HIghly Effective and Durable
Like other reviewers, I had to get the knack of this item, but within 10 - 15 caps I was using it like a pro. It has a considerably different "action" from the cheap, plastic cappers from the LHS, but once acclimated, I'm of the opinion it is a much better mechanical design. Also seems just so much beefier, and feels like it should last for years.

It’s perfect!
Used to bottle homemade beer. First time I used one of these. Used to have the screw on plastic bottles. No problems using it. Like other reviews said, just put some pressure on it when you push down. It’s not like you push down to break the glass but just a bit. Good product. Easy to use

Sturdy but a bit touchy
I wanted another capper as a backup to my heavy plastic one. It would not do to have it break on bottling day and not have a way to crimp caps on.This one does seem to be very sturdy. It is heavier than I thought it was going to be.The action felt a bit rough at first, until I put a drop of vegetable oil on each joint and pivot point and worked it a few times. I also wiped the inside of the bell with veggie oil to help release caps. The only downside so far, which I hope will improve with practice, is that it is capable of bending a cap and rendering it useless if it is not perfectly aligned on the bottle. It happened a couple of times while bottle a batch of 40, yet I have never had this issue with the other capper (it has its own issues).

Sturdy and easy to use....caps the bottles
I preferred this option to the many plastic version. have to believe that it will outlast the plastic versions. it is well made and can take a lot of downward pressure when capping. capped a case of homebrew quickly. very satisfield.

It crimps caps. UPDATE Crimps some caps.
seems to work as advertised [dose not do a good job on stubby bottles like session] that being said it Shipped fast would still recommend.

It's Inexpensive & Sturdy
I've owned/used about 8 various bottle cappers in my homebrewing adventures, and I've found this one is the most difficult to work with. It does the job, but it forces you to pre-load each bottle cap into the capper which kind of bugs me in that I cap my bottles by putting the sanitized caps on the bottles, and then pressing them down with the capper.. Once in place it functions OK, but I really have to manhandle this sucker to get it to release each bottle. It works, but its is not an easy mistress to dance with, and I've literally capped thousands of bottles over the years.

Not a broken bottle
It some getting used to. I found that if I bent over the bottle that the capper was easier to use. After capping, the tool didn't readily release from the cap. I found that if I sealed the cap and pulled up sharply on the handles that it did release easily. Just make sure the the bottle doesn't go flying. And like I said, I didn't break one bottle in the 50 that I capped.

Good capper
Bought as a replacement. This is my third capper. The last two were plastic, so I wanted something more robust. This is well made, heavy duty capper. Only issue I had was the magnet fell out after about a hundred caps. I glued it back in and have done a few hundred caps without issue. As others have stated it takes a bit of getting used to. You have to be pretty rough to get the cap crimped and to get the capper to release.
