The quality of this blade is decent. There are some design and build flaws that takes away from it being a four or five star knife. It nice enough to not cause it to be returned.1.) The wood handle pieces are dark and not as gray and marbled as the picture. This makes the knife just a bit dull in my eyes and as a result the Damascus steel doesn’t blend as well into the overall design.2.) The machining leaves a bit to be desired. In the handle, where the brass meets wood, the machining could be smoother but the edges are rough. Not a deal breaker but if the handle was smoother, using the knife would have a better and more premium feel.3.) When folded closed, the edge of the knife hits the inside of the handle where it’s metal. I don’t think the handle part is hardened steel so the edge should be fine, but as a result I did notice that out of the box, the edge at the point where the blade makes contact is duller than the rest of the blade which is not overly sharp out of the box anyway.4.) The brass plate that catches the back of the blade and keeps it open is really large and intrudes into your index finger when holding it. It’s so big that if you’re not careful, you might twist the knife in such a way that it might unpatch and allow the knife to close on your finger.5.) The etching on the right side of the handle where it’s Damascus is etched fine for the most part, but the left side has barely any etching at all. In fact, it looks like a flat piece of steel versus the right side which has the rings and lines of Damascus.Would I buy this again? Perhaps I would if I lost it or broke it after a lot of use. Only this time, I would ask the seller to make sure the etching and the wood looks better. The rest of the quality can be fixed if you have the equipment and tools at home.

I bought it for it craftsmanship.This is not hand crafted. It isn't even finished. All the edges are rough.

My opinion? Junk. I sent it back.
