Happy to wear Valour!
I have now got a lot of Valour strike kit, everything from the gloves, shorts pads, head guard and wraps.the clothing:-fits right, tight where you need it to be but never restricting, this meant that i can still kick high in the shorts or stretch out in the tops.the gloves :-i have the two pairs, the 10oz and 14oz. (14oz for sparing, 10oz for competitions). 14oz are my preference because they have been well and truly used, comfortable and easily fit to my hands with the wraps. the 10oz, are still slightly unusual due to me being used to the 14oz, however... i wore the 10s in my first ever fight, and won by knock out after breaking someones nose... so they deserve at least a 7 out of 10 for being my lucky gloves!!the shinnies:-Are used mainly for sparing, very good, comfortable, and stop me from breaking my shins, much better than the two separate shin and foot pad that i have to use for competitions, i prefer the 1 piece shin pads but due to competing more and more i will have to buy some which are regulation for the competitions.head guard:-good, used a few times, not regulation for all competitions but due to the fact that i dont get the usual melting head and sweat dripping into my eyes when wearing it its good, light enough not to feel like a bobblehead and well designed enough to stop the blocking of peripheral vision which is associated with most head-guards.Love my Valour Strike gear, will gladly be buying more when i finally manage to wear some of it out ( i have been trying but not got anywhere near yet)

100% worth the money
This is my first ever head guard so I am basing my review on this one only and not compared to previous headguards I have had.I have recently taken up MMA and whilst I have been focusing on Jiu Jitsu, I have recently added the stand up game to my repertoire.Having said that, when sparring time came along, I realised quickly that as a bloke with a family and job to go to the following day, a headguard was certainly a necessity.I stumbled upon this headguard by filtering out by price, and rating and appearance. Taking every one of these options into account, I'm glad I went with this one as it is comfortable and really well made.---Build quality---Based on the price compared to others on the market, I didn't really have too high expectations for this piece of equipment however I was very pleasantly surprised. I opted for the large option and lit fits snugly and securely with a Velcro clip under the chin and on top of the head. Not sure the material it is made from but it feels like leather so very durable. If I had to pick a negative about this then it would be the fact that the wearer gets very sweaty but with the sport in question and the activities you're performing, I think it's unfair to blame the headguards on this.---appearance---It looks bloody lovely and the branding goes perfectly with the style and colour scheme.---effectiveness---This definitely absorbs much of the shock provided by jab or hook. As many others training in combat sports, we avoid head kicks in sparring so I cannot comment on how effective it is at absorbing this type of impact. The head guard has cheek guards as well which are slightly elevated again providing a nice cushion when absorbing punches.Ears fit perfectly into the ear gaps within the head guard so all in all very effective. Again, the only negative I can mark against it is that it feels quite large when on your head but I can imagine this is this case with any other head guard on the market so it is unfair once again to scrutinise this oneOverall , defo would recommend as it is a premium bit of kit at a very affordable price!

Pretty good, but gets smelly
It's a very nicely made headguard, sturdy, fits nicely and very light. Valour Strike have answered a question here saying no animal materials are used in its production; I can't be certain but it seems a lot like leather to me. What is certain is that the material really soaks up sweat and can eventually become quite smelly, so don't neglect to clean it. I found mould growing on the inside of mine recently, though that was after leaving it in the cellar for a few weeks, so...I shouldn't need to say this but a lot of people don't realise: head guards do not protect you from brain injuries, they protect against superficial cuts and bruises, that's all, hence why amateur (male) boxers are no longer required to wear them since studies showed concussions actually occurred more regularly when they were worn. It's not a reason not to buy this headguard, but I just think everyone should be aware. The best way to protect against brain damage is to not get hit. :)

Good product for a good price
no complaints, holds well during sparing, i do recommend this product for anyone sparring, protects well.Yes you will get movement just tighten it, however do not tighten to much as it will dig into your chin

Good for beginners but not serious boxers
Bought this headguard as I need something for light sparring rather than using a full bar headguard which is quite bulky, the headguard itself looks slick and is comfortable to wear but after a few uses the chin strap comes off quite easy in sparring so have to tape it down with duct tape. The padding is also quite light and doesn't fare well with heavy shots. Its an ideal headguard for beginners and for light sparring just not for what I need.

... in sparring and I have to say it was fantastic. Brilliant levels of adjustment and superb comfort levels
Used this head guard for the first time last night in sparring and I have to say it was fantastic. Brilliant levels of adjustment and superb comfort levels. The material used on the inside of the head guard is perfect as it is so grippy! Would highly recommend this product to anyone in the boxing/mma world

Great head protection
Apart from arriving in very little time :-) this headguard is perfectly easy to adjust, nice & snug, covers the face well without loosing visibility, doesn't slip around like some headguards, i would recommend this item for any m.m.a fighters
