This cover's base material is plastic.
The covers i've been purchasing from the big box stores are plated metal. The base metal starts corroding too quickly so i'm hoping this plastic model will last much longer. Time will tell.

Just what I was looking for for overflow drain on tub
Our bath tub had old style grill on the overflow drain. I learned that our faucet was leaking down into this area and the gasket inside had started leaking so we were leaking water under house. Was able to replace gasket and stop leak. Just to be sure purchased this style of cover for overflow. It fit fine, functions great, and easy to install. Did not have to consult youtube for this one. I would say great value. Only time will tell as far as durability.

I replaced old chrome shower head and tap with MOEN Align brushed nickel design. Didnt come with overflow cap. New item is as close to perfect as one would expect. Looks like it was made to match. Easy to install. Came with the cap, a mounting bracket to hold the screw in place and 1 screw. I had to reuse the 2 old screws from previous cap. Happy I hadn't removed anything prior to receiving the replacement. It All worked out fine. Very happy!

They say it is "Metal construction", it is not. It is made from plastic. Cheap quality, never ever again.
