Perfect, but a band-aid
2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport My truck had the same exact symptoms every one else described in these reviews. I bought one of the less than $10 sensors here, while it stopped the bucking, the truck just ran poorly and started having shifting issues. I just installed the Dorman one and all of that went away, immediately. Why a band-aid? Well, because it is well known that old Jeeps like their Mopar sensors. It will be a matter of time before this one goes too, but since I can't afford a Mopar TPS at the moment, it will have to do for now. A quick tip for anyone not familiar with Jeeps and their sensors, always reset the ECU by removing the negative battery terminal from the battery for a couple of minutes. These are old trucks and a little slow on the uptake and need a slap in the back of the head every so often. You may install a sensor and it runs like crap on first start because you didn't reset the ECU. Once you do, everything should be right in the world and there will be peace in the Middle East.

Seems to have caused new issues, and Didn’t fix the issue I had.
I bought this because of another review from another Jeep XJ owner that stated it worked well. I know these axis are finicky with non OEM/Mopar parts, but because of that review I tried it. I was having a transmission shifting issue. Basically not shifting at the correct times and getting hung up in 3rd. This would happen intermittenly. So I got this TPS and it didn’t fix the issue,( I know it could be other things, this was just the cheapest fix so first thing I tried) but now I am getting very rough starts that I wasn’t before and rough idling from cold starts. It does smooth out after a couple of Minutes but this didn’t happen before. Only change was this TPS. I will be swapping it with a MOPAR one asap. I don’t recommend this if you have a 97-2001 Jeep XJ.

Great fit, cured my issues I was having. Very happy with this part.
Was a direct replacement for my 1998 Cherokee 4.0L. This completely cured my idling issues, shifting issues, and it even seems to start better now. Fitment was great, no issues. Now we will just see how long it lasts.

Works, kind of...
I was chasing down shifting problems in my cherokee xj. It would drop gears on the highway, fall out of OD, fail to downshift at lights, etc. I got this tps to try and fix the issue. Worked for about a week before my shifting problem came back - I spent another few months running myself around trying to figure it out before I realized this tps had gone bad and I ended up at the dealership anyway. Shifting problem is now a thing of the past. Just go mopar. And check your fuses.
