Raiser is good but shaving should be cautious

Wonderful razor, delivers a perfect BBS and close shave, and I didn't find it aggressive at all, given I've used Gillette Sterling razor without a base plate many times. Must buy if you have some prior practice with DE razors.

This PEARL SSH-05 DE Razor is excellent overall. It's absolutely value for money with excellent build quality, good weight and great finish. The razor is little on the milder side which is also good for people who are new to double edged safety razors.....one commendable feature I liked about this razor is that it has close to no blade overhang....it can even be considered that this razor has no blade overhang at all !!So it's safer in that way too! The blades that came with it are good too. The packaging was also nice.Overall I am very satisfied.Also my order got delivered earlier than expected. So thanks to Amazon.

I ordered this to replace my older safety razor. I made sure to check that the length of the handle matched against the older one, which was 12 cm.But when I opened the pack, it was immediately clear that this instrument was far shorter. It is only 8 cm long. A huge deal if you have big hands. Which was a pity, because this is a good product otherwise. It’s weighty, well balanced, is of high quality construction.It’s also rather mild, which makes it suitable as a first razor for people who are new to wet shaving. If you’re a veteran user, you should give this one a pass and look for a more aggressive instrument.This product isn’t returnable. But my payment was refunded without any questions asked after I uploaded a picture of the handle measuring less than the specified length.

The problem is that picture shown in website shows brand name, which is missing in product. That makes it difficult to check/ remember which blade side was used last time. Handle is too small. In fact , in this Pearl brand, the same problem exist in other models too and all models are overpriced. I have bought 3 of their razors influenced by the reviews and prominence given to them on website and I am disappointed.

In the last three decades I do not remember ever having shaved without having nicks and cuts but this incredibly good razor gave me a shave without a single nick. It is built very strongly and the closed comb prevents any agression. The feel is premium and the weight balance is perfect. It broke the myth that only heavy and large razors are good. My other razors are large and heavy. It is one of the best purchases I have made ever in shaving products.

I bought this razor mainly for the open comb head to use with a handle I already have. I find the open comb smooth, efficient and not overly aggressive. Blade alignment sometimes can require some fiddling, but is not a big deal for anyone who knows how.

Excellent quality and value for the price. Shaves comparably to a EJ DE 89 or Murkur 34c. You also get an open comb in a close to Comb head.

For this being my 1st safety razor & new to wet shaving, this was a good experience. So to me this is an excellent beginner razor. It's plated so they're minor deformities but it doesn't take away from performance. The close head is real mild, while the open head (comb) is more aggressive. The blades that come with it are mild in my opinion. I had to do 3 passes. So depending on your skin & hair type, a sharper blade might be needed. The handle of this razor is real short. I would recommend this to anybody beginning wet shaving.

I enjoyed the DE razor just would of liked if the handle was longer not comfortable for my gorilla hands. Would there be a longer handle I could purchase.

Got this for my hub and for Christmas he loved it very light weight
