Where do you plug in the 3.5mm end? I don't get how this works. I need something to get my TV remote to work on a TV that has a soundbar blocking IR.

This type of emitters might not be necessary for your use. Some tvs are equipped with an ir single input on the back of the set. It is used for that purpose which if something is blocking the ir receiver on the front of the set, this emitter can be placed by adhesive some where in clear view for the remote to fire at. Simply the ir emitter is plugged into the back of the tv if one is available. A single emitters on a 6ft wire is probably all you need. Hope that satisfies your question, Billy from Envision Audio

is this Adapter work with samsung tvs ?

By itself it might not work. You may need the entire repeater kit item number 1183-N or 1216-N.

Will this work with the Xbox one ir functionality feature?

Yes I am using it for that specifically.
