SAWKE Sight Mount Plate Pistol Mount Plate

The mount is well made and finished. It is seems to be aluminum with a black coating. It fit my Vortex optic just as it was supposed to. It did not fit the Charles Daly 1911 as the slot was much to small, but a couple of hours with a Dremel tool grinding the bevel on the insert made it work. It took a while because it has to be done carefully, grinding and fitting and grinding. If too much is take odd, it is ruined. My son’s sight vise was invaluable. As a note, the Charle Daly 1911 was not mentioned in the guns it fit. I bought the mount purely on speculation.

This mount is for the standard GI slide cut. It is not fitting the Novak LoMount. Works as advertised. I mounted it to a EAA Girsan 1911 commander. It required a shim to dial in the green dot sight properly.

Soft aluminum, short screws, not safe. My dot ejected into my forehead. It's definitely going to scar. Spend the money on a better unit until they change the dove peg to steel with better screws.

You can always tell how good a company is by the quality of their packaging. This one was superb, thick see though plastic. That's about where the good quality stops. Seems to me that the known deminsions of the glock slide would make it easier to make a product like this with tighter tolerances. I installed this one and found it difficult to keep straight on the slide which can interfere with accuracy. I had to use a vise and micrometer to get it acceptably straight. Aside from that HUGH issue it's a okay product made of aluminum. Be careful not to strip it out. May or may not be good for you, it was mediocre for me.

A decent optic mount for the money. Unfortunately mine didn't come with instructions. I highly recommend getting a quality sight tool like the MGW (model MGW308 for the Beretta 92) to remove the stock rear sight from the Beretta 92F slide. The MGW sight tool can be used to install the base onto the dove tail of the slide. Although it's tricky to get things to line up. Another recommendation I have is to use a light grit sandpaper to remove some of the paint from the sides of the piece that goes into the dove tail of the slide. It makes installation a little easier.

This product fit my Glock perfectly but the holes to fit my red dot scope would not match correctly. I have to return this product for this reason. If the holes would have matched correctly I would have loved to have kept it.

Looks great but after using once installed I did have one of the screws snap off after about 300 rounds but if you can get better hardware the baseplate is very nice and very square to the side assembly!

appears legit. Just need to pick which 1911 will get an upgrade
