The Blue Angels Flight Demonstration team performed their first show in June. 1946 flying Grumman F6F Hellcats. Today the team fly McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. which also serves as one of the Navy's front line fighters. Since their beginnings, the Blue Angels have performed for over 322 million people. The six aviators, selected from the US Navy and Marine Corps, and their support team of over 100 personnel are widely regarded as one of the finest and most professional formation aerobatic display teams in the world today.
