I really liked this rooCase a lot, especially the executive portfolio encasing the rooCase. The color is nice and rich, and its made very sturdy. I really enjoyed it, EXCEPT the case did not have a sleep/wake mode on the case that holds the Kindle itself. That, and the fact that the colors are limited, are my only complaints. It's a really nice item. If you don't use your Kindle as much, then it would be nice to have the portfolio for added protection plus it just looks handsome and appropriate when out and about. If you are an avid Kindle user like me, the lack of the sleep/wake feature will really bug you. Hope this helps.

I love the color, the way everything fits, and the ability to use it in case or with just the sleeve. I hated the smell. As stated by other reviewers it does stink (got the red one). It smells like stink bugs, just as other reviewers have stated. When I got mine I had a terrible flu virus and was so miserably stuffed up and I COULD STILL smell the stench of this thing. That said, I took the pieces out, placed them in a box with a charcoal briquette (not touching the case!), and then took the box outside to our storage shed until I was over my sickness. Two weeks later the stink was tolerable. Now, it's been maybe a month, and unless you stick your nose right on it you can barely smell it. I love the color enough to have put up with the "wait for it to stop stinking" but if I had it to do over... eh... black is nice too and they say it doesn't stink. (?)

I returned a Fintie case for this one. It is a genuine Roo case. As other reviewers have said, it is bulky, but very attractive and will protect my 7" HDX very well. It was easy to put the HDX in it and I can leave it on a desk or shelf at a good angle, and charge it and connect it to the charging cable whille I am watching video. as I often use my tablets to watch video or listen to audio while working with my hands or workin at the computer, this is important to ne. Of course, thank you Amazon for making this possible by the design of the HDXI am , in a way sorry it is not just a little bit bigger and able to hold a charger, or at least a charging cable. I also comes with a stylus pen. I have always ugly plastic cases for my Kindles and this one is lovely and sturdy.It looks like leather and is well made. It would have been better if there was some elastic in the gusset of the zipper or just a little thicker, but that is being picky.

I really like this case but zipper is difficult to close at times - seems like it needs just a little more room. Snap can also be difficult to snap in place however as stated I do like this as it looks very nice and classy and zipper is not plastic so am hoping it will last. Would give it an excellent rating if just a little looser.

I looked all over for a case that had an easel and a zipper to protect the screen. This is the only one I found that was stylish as well as functional. It looked good on the screen but with things like this you never know until you get it. When I got it I was delighted by the appearance and the sturdy craftsmanship. I was pleasantly surprised by the the compartments I thought would be unnecessary and get in the way. Now, I have a notepad and calendar in it so I am very happy that it has room for things I didn't know I needed. I would buy it again for someone else. The only thing I am concerned about is the pivot that lets you change the position of the screen. It seems weak enough to tear if you are not careful when you turn it. It also comes out of the case and will hang by that little pivot. I plan on reinforcing it. It is still so much better than anything else I saw so I wont let this little quirk reduce the number of stars.

I bought and gave this to my sister in law, not sure why I gave it to her and what she did with it after I did. I thought it was a pretty good bundle deal.

Its OK, I don't know why its so hard to find a standing case for bookwise. I like the red leather but its bulky and I wish it was more like my other book cover.

I really am liking this case! I like the feature that allows the case surrounding my Kindle Fire HDX to be removed from the outer portfolio case, so that I can hold it while reading and watching streaming video. It's very well-made and the leather finish is beautiful. I bought red so I can easily locate it, as well as its the main color of my favorite European country's flag. The hand-strap on the back works well, as does the little stow-away stand that allow for tilted landscape reading / watching. I do wish it had a stand for vertical hands-free use, but I guess I can put the case back into the zippered outer case for that if I want to. I'm quite happy with this acquisition!

Excellent case. Bought this for my son as he broke his original kindle fire within 24 hours of purchase as they are so thin and the screen cracks too easily. The replacement kindle has been kept in this case and it is really good quality. There is an inner cover which the kindle sits inside and this gives extra protection to avoid the kindle being bent. This attaches into the main cover (by way of a popper) which zips up and then the kindle is fully enclosed for travelling. My son uses just the inner cover usually when he is watching something on the kindle but pops it into the main cover to take it anywhere. We have been very pleased with this and cannot recommend it highly enough.
