This Powerland gas generator is a great choice for power outages, the construction site, service trucks and workshops. Its powerful 6500 watt generating ability will keep your home going when power outages strike. Great for running appliances and tools. Has a 7 gallon fuel tank.

Great price and worked as expected.
Made in China and no name motor so I wasn't expecting much to be honest. Anyway it was not without issues as the battery had leaked acid on the frame during transportation. Rather than return it, my husband brushed off the acid and then spray painted it flat black so it was as good as new. The other issue was a piece that controls the trottle broke off after a few uses. Luckily my husband took care of that too. However despite these issues, we really do like the generator because it has a lot of features found in more expensive generators. For one it has an electric start, a variable throttle (saves gas), high wattage for the price point, folding handles and a fuel level gauge at the top of the gas can. Also it wasn't as loud as we imagined, especailly when it idles at a lower speed when there is less demand from the house appliances. Overall I was pretty happy because it was about $650 delivered and we have used it twice for Irene and Sandy and it worked like a champ. Finally, my husband connected it to our house using a Reliance 10 circuit transfer switch, which I also strongly recommend if you want to get the most out of your generator.

Amazon does not allow returns, Powerland doesn't warranty.
Bought this on Amazon. It arrived and the installing electrician says power output is irregular, defective and dangerous so he refused to connect it to my house.Amazon will not take it back despite it being purchased less than 30 days ago. Powerland, who has a 30 day moneyback guarantee for defective products, has also refused their defective product warranty stating they will only honor their 1-year parts-only warranty because it was purchased through Amazon.com.So I have a lemon, defective generator, that I must pay to ship back to the manufacturer to look at. DO NOT buy this from Amazon since it voids the most valuable part of the manufacturer's already shoddy warranty. If you get a lemon, you are stuck with it.Horrible customer service from Amazon and so far, Powerland.

Powerland PD6500E installation
Received Powerland PD6500E Generator without parts list or installation instrucitons. User manual appears to be for earlier model. Handles don't prevent unit from falling over. However, it started (once I figured out that 'out' means 'choked') and worked great with 1500W heater, lights, Plasma TV. Will only use it perhaps once/twice a year for emergencies. Good buy, but cheap support.

Power to the People
The lights went out and the contents of the freezer almost instantly melted, oozing past the door seals and puddling on the kitchen floor. I couldn't see what color it was, what with the lights off and all, but I'll bet it was brown. Maybe there was some green. Had the lights been on I would have said something like "Eew," but then again, if the lights were on nothing would have melted. The traumatic event caused me to be proactive against a possible repeat of history and so I bought this generator in a moment of self-preservation frenzy. The delivery man gave me a dirty look as he used a dolly to drag it from his truck to my garage. It takes a bit of assembly; you have to put its wheels, front stand and maneuvering handle in place. But it's not hard to do and a half hour after starting I was discovering that my gasoline can was empty so I couldn't give it an immediate try. But if I had gas, I was ready to go because a short harness comes with the kit to attach extension cords. At almost 7000 watts, the generator could be wired to your existing electric panel for the house using a cut-over switch (also available from Amazon). The unit is capable of keeping the furnace, water heater, microwave and other appliances alive and functional. It's not enough for a typical stove, so don't try that without the fire department on speed dial and a really good story for claiming warranty. It's electric start makes it a breeze to crank up. It proved it to me when I finally did get fuel for it. Now it can sit in the garage with the other rarely used tools I have acquired to defer the agonies of a coming apocalypse; or, the next power outtage, whichever comes first.

Lots of Features without the Big Price Tag
I bought this last year after the big northeast snow storm of 2011. Anyway I did a lot of research and finally settled on this one. Key featurs for me were 1) something powerful enough to power my furnance, frig, lights, sump pump, water heater etc., rated @ 5500 watts (surge rated @ 6875 watts) this was exactly what I needed 2) electric start in case my wife needed to start it in my absence 3) automatic throttle so it would not use lots of fuel 4) automatic low oil shut off 5) not too noisey 6) Wheel kit so I could easily drag it out of my shed 7)something less than $700.Anyway, I purchased it for $649 and it was shipped free thanks to prime. Fast forward one year later after Hurricane Sandy, I am using this to power my house along with a Reliance Transfer switch that I installed myself and I could not be more happier or comfortable, which prompted this belated review. The one only negative was that the battery did leak a little during shipping and the frame corroded a little as a result. No biggie, I simply sanded it off and repainted it with flat black spray paint. I contacted the Mfg and they instructed me to buy a battery locally and they reimbursed me for it. In summary for the price I paid, you can't find a better generator with this many features. Even at it's current price of $779, I still would recommend it.
