LU88R010: 10" Thin Kerf Fine Finish Crosscut Blade

Ok this muther of a bad boy has been sitting in my Citadel for a few weeks now...just waiting for that Festool HK85 that’s sposed to get here from good ol Italy any day now( he...just got it now that this blade is also from Italy...well waddya know???? 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😜😜😜🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣) ...so I’m simply D.I.Y.ing (🤣🤣🤣🤣) to try it out on that big ol Demon Of A Saw ... now there might be some issues cause a Freud/Diablo blade ain’t sposed to go on this specific 9” Festool Saw( which for some strange reason ain’t available on the US market) , the HK85’s riving knife is more or less specifically tailored for Festool Blades, or vice versa , but you get the picture. Which means a 2.5mm max kerf width I think, and a 1.8mm blade width... or is it 2.5mm and 3.2... for that ol river to work at gettin those kickbacks down to a minimum and all...but according to the specs in On the package i think they’ll be ok... And the bore will need enlarging as well... Cmon now when’s that Saw gettin here?!? I can’t wait so long !!!get me that Saw already!!! Sorry... 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣😜 Anyway yeah once I try em out ,and surely witness first hand they Kick Lumber butt like yesterday’s news only because A Festool Saw with A Freud Blade is like pairing Wonder Woman with Wolverine ,I’ll update this review to a proper “ how does this item work in your opinion” one. (A while ago actually, sorry didn’t update sooner, having too much fun with it...🥳🤩👹😈🤣🤣🤣🤣😎) Did the mod on the bore...Yesireee. Used a Diablo Carbide Hole Saw, 1-1/8” on a DeWalt DCD996 , stuck that Frued Blade using 2 Festool Quick Clamps on my pseudo-MFT ....took a while, used lube sparingly , but in the end that hole saw pushed through! Did some fine deburring , and tried it on...perfect fit!!! So.... after that oh So long rant on everything above below and all around this blade , but nothing on IT!!!! How did it cut GDI ?!?!?!?!!! Well ....it cuts good man....it cuts reaaaaalll goooood...😎🔪🥩☣️ 😳 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Actually it went smooth as silk on the lumber I tried it on, fairly smooth feel on the Face that was cut, no problems with the Saw, the riving knife , the kerf or plate width.... I got this Freud LU88R009 blade for my Craftsman 9 inch radial arm saw from 1972 after reading positive reviews here on Amazon. I got the saw for free about 8 years ago and never set it up until recently. It came with 3 blades. The first 2 blades smoked my garage out and the 3rd one (which was never used before me) cuts without burning but the cut is not very clean. So now I start looking for 9 inch blades. It wasn't as easy as I thought since no one really carries 9 inch blades anymore. Thankfully there are some companies that still make them and Amazon carries them. I chose this Freud blade for price and versatility. The blade crosscuts so much better than what I had and is incredibly quiet compared to the old Craftsman Chisel Tooth hss blade that was in there. It leaves a very clean cut with an almost shiny surface in the hard maple I've been working with. This blade, for me anyway, still leaves a tiny bit of tear out on the bottom of the cut and some circular marks on the cutting surface but it's so much better than what I had and the tear out is so minimal that it cleans right up with a couple strokes of 150 grit sandpaper. Of course, some of that could be my technique and learning curve with this machine. If you get this blade for a RAS be prepared for it to pull aggressively through the cut. It may catch you by surprise. I also made some small rip cuts with this blade the results were just as good, if not better, than the crosscuts. This is not to say that it should be used this way as I don't think that was the manufacturers intention but it does do a great job. I will eventually get the LU87R009 for ripping so I can have the best of both. These will definitely be my go to blade for important cuts while I can still use that old Craftsman blade for junk cuts so I can enjoy the pleasure of the Freud blade for a long time.

Love this blade they’re not cheap but they work really good. I do segmented wood, and I wanted something that didn’t cut very much off my sticks when I make my segments. The picture I supplied is after I used the blade to cut the segment. very smooth to finish after I cut.

I purchased this saw blade for cross cutting on my radial arm saw. I had a new no name saw blade for cross cutting and I had nothing but problems with burning the wood and stalling the motor when cutting. The Freud 9" blade cut the hard wood like butter! Wish I would have payed a little extra a year ago it would have saved me alot of trouble.

Cuts hardwoods like warm butter. Leaves a smooth cut, but there's quite a bit of blade flutter visible in that cut. Might have returned it, but I was under a time crunch and had to get a project finished. I may just be asking too much looking for a glue-ready surface from a 12" miter saw. I'll stick to the freud 10" blade in my table saw for final cuts when I can. HUGE upgrade over the dull stock blade though.

Great crosscut blade. Been using it for several months and it slices through hardwood like butter. Thin kerf reduces waste.

I needed to cut a series of accurate 45s using my mitre saw and decided to replace the blase saw I could get very clean cuts. The thin kerf seemed like the best option. After reading a number of reviews I decided-- as often happens-- to buy the well rated more expensive option. That proved to be the right decision. It cuts easily and without chipping. The finer kerf makes a difference, and I'm sure like other Freud products I've purchased in the past it will hold up well and retain it's sharpness through many cuts. It was worth the extra money over the less expensive options.

Super Sharp. I am using on my 12" dewalt chop saw. Cuts like a dream.

My first saw blade for my tablesaw was a Freud rip blade and crosscut blade (the old black teflon coated ones) which was over 18 years ago. I decided I was in need of a new crosscut blade and did my home work and Freud came up several times ,and since I`ve used this brand before (as well as others) I decided to order it. Amazon delivered quickly as usual and free shipping by UPS (gotta love that) The blade is extremely sharp out of the package and very well made. I`m building a bed side table from Cherry and Hard Maple and must say ,this blade performs very very well indeed.The cuts are smooth ,no burning and no tear out ,absolutely perfect !! Normally I use a backer board when crosscutting to prevent tear out ,this time I didn`t and the cuts were flawless (although it is still a good idea to use a backer regardless) With my Incra miter gage and the tablesaw set up properly , the cuts are a perfect 90° I would recommend this blade to anybody. Aun que no es un disco para trabajar melaminas funciona muy bien y los cortes en madera son muy buenos, para cortes a favor de la veta es un poco lento pero para cortes atravesados en la veta es excelente. No compren discos baratos
