This sight is a complete failure.
dot disappears in darkness. Contacted Aim Sports Inc and they replaced with an upgraded sight that works flawlessly. The customer service from Aim was outstanding but the auto brightness sight is a complete failure. Big kudos to Ed at Aim for handling the situation quickly and professionally.

Stay away from this one.
Mounted this on a Ruger 22/45 Lite .22 pistol with the picatinny rail that came with the pistol from ruger.1st problem. The sight does not mount properly on the picatinny rail! The clamping mechanism on one side pulls the sight over leaving a 1/32" gap on one side where it mounts on the rail, this causes it to sit leaned just a tad bit to the right. I fixed this by putting two strips of electrical tape on one side to get it to set correctly on the rail, This resolved the problem but I shouldn't have rig it like this. Either the grove on the opposite is incorrect or the clamping device is incorrect.2nd problem, adjusting it to zero it in and the "Thrust screws" in the end of it. I sighted it in but the thrust screws do not keep it zero. Taking it apart I found two tiny little springs that the thrust screws push into a plate to hold it in place. The plate doesn't have any seats for the spring so they spin on top of the plate inside. When adjusting the screws the springs bend over and do not accomplish this, I took the springs out and reseated them but when you are trying to adjust it back and forth they fold over again. Very CHEAP design. The up/down adjustment screws works fine but the right/left adjustment screw doesn't. There is a pusher on the opposite side with another tiny spring. The spring doesn't work well making right to left adjustments near impossible. So basically this sight is a throw away. Sure I could send it back to them and get another one, but the extremely cheap mechanism inside and tiny springs are garbage. Bad design and getting a half a dozen replacements wouldn't fix it. The red dot works well and I like the auto brightness, compact design and looks on the pistol but zeroing it and getting it to stay on zero impossible, made in china.Ordered a Bushnell TRS-25, lots of good reviews for it on amazon so will give it a try.

Aim Sports Red Dot Sight with Auto Brightness Model RTA-N
Piece of junk, don't buy, waste of time & money. Unlike most red dot sights, this unit uses a mini increment wheel that you (attachs to the unit) to use to get correct elevation and windage Time consuming task. But not so hard if you're just using it for point & shoot as I was for my Rem 870 Tac shotgun. Attaches easy enough to the picatiiny rails, but this is where the fun starts. First, there is no co-witness with the rear ghost ring sight of the 870 (ok no problem). However it does co-witness with the front white bead front dovetail sight. But the unit has an auto brightness control which is suppose to adjust itself to different light conditions and apparently adjust the red dot intensity. Well the darker the room or area gets, the red dot became weaker and harder to see. The brighter the room became, the red dot intensified and appeared too big or had a splattered/smeared look. I took this out into the garage without any artificial or lights turned on (complete darkness). There was no red dot at all. So in complete darkness, the unit was useless. This isn't like an Aimpoint Red Dot where you can adjust the intensity of your dot even in complete darkness. . But I guess the price was too cheap to expect anything else but yard sale quality merchandise. Anybody can see in the daylight, but low light conditions is where you may really need help. This unit doesn't fit the bill. May be ok for airsoft applications or toys, but for serious use, forget it!
