easy install - works
this worked perfectly to replace single element 6 gal water heater.

Can’t go wrong with Camco.
I usually stick with camco when buying RV stuff. I just bought this water heater element because my old one was pretty old. It was very easy to install. Fortunately I already had the socket needed to remove and replace this element. It really seems like a high quality replacement. But time will tell.

Good value
Good value. Easy to install. Way better than replacing the heater. Bought one about two years ago and it burned out. Hope this one lasts longer.

Luke warm hot water in a Suburban RV water heater
Had Luke warm water in a Suburban RV water heater. Changed the element. It fit perfectly. But was not the problem. Found out there is two small thermostats (nonadjustable) that screw on to the side of the tank. It was the problem!

Easy peasy.
I used this to replace a failed heating element from an AO Smith 19 Gallon Electric Water heater. Follow the instructions in the manual for your water heater (and some of the tips in the reviews - using dish soap around the gasket for instance), and you'll be golden. Word to the wise - of your old heating element is visibly blown out or melted, go ahead and buy a thermostat and replace that too. Once I had this installed, I found that my thermostat had failed closed and had the water SCALDING hot despite being set to 120F. Once I replaced that as well, my water heater was back. My favorite thing about this was the price. My heater is still under warranty, but AO Smith customer service is borderline useless. This being as cheap as it is just let me bypass that whole experience altogether and get my water heater back up and running myself.
