Easy replacement for factory part.
Installed this in my 8 year old Kenmore "Economizer 6" 40gal 240v single element water heater model #153.318132. The owner's manual listed part number was 9002300. The Kenmore parts people wanted $40 and 2-3 weeks just to get the part (what do you mean weeks? This is my hot showers we're talking about here!) plus $99 if you wanted to schedule a service call to have it installed. But this cost $16 from Amazon and came in two days. It matched perfectly and was a snap to install. Four connections, 15 minutes, no doubts. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver. Performs as expected. Happy puppy here.

Single Element Water Heater Thermostat
This will work fine in a single element water heater , just take a picture first of wiring and naturally turn off to the water heater . The thermostat unsnaps for removal , reads tempertature from backside of thermostat. its a good idea to replace it when doing the heating element. was much cheaper than a new waterheater, if it doesnt leak but no hot water its typically the heating element or thermostat . Be aware the heating elements can be a bear to remove , depends on corrosion , I lucked out mine was basically hand tight.

It wasn't hard to install. Make sure power is off!
It fixed my water heater. I turned the breaker off. Removed 5 wires and 2 holding clamps on the side. I then reversed the process, set the temperature. 2 hours later the water reached temperature and problem solved.

Worked exactly as needed.
Had an old single element water heater with a broken thermostat. All the stores around me only had the normal double element thermostats. Didn't want to use the wrong part so this was the perfect replacement and worked great.
