Granny Square Flair US Terms Edition: 50 Fresh, Modern Variations of the Classic Crochet Square

This is indeed a beautiful book, and the squares are exquisite. I have been crocheting for many, many years and tonight i say down so ready to make a few squares, i started 3. I have never seen such confusing directions. Maybe because I've never heard of ending a round with a half double crochet or a single crochet. And then the next row it may say make a double crochet over joining single crochet, And nothing lines up. I also don't know if it was translated from another language. I read the terms repeatedly. I'll try again another time but I'm so upset that i paid 27.00 for a book i can't understand.I would love it if someone would post a picture of a square from the book, with its number and tell us how the directions were for them to follow. I tried to make another square tonight 11-22. Same problem, i tried to wing it a little hoping that would help but it didn't.

I thought this was pretty expensive but I REALLY wanted a pattern that is in it. I was very pleased when I got it. There are TONS of square patterns. I have lots of crochet books and a few that I return to often. This is definitely one I will use a lot. It’s worth the price.

This book has some of the most beautiful granny squares I have ever seen. Even a seasoned crocheter like me learned a few new tricks! Shelley's method of seemless joins are pure gold. It is a bit pricey, but once you read her tricks and start working the stunning patterns....it's worth every penny and then some. You will not be disappointed.

I own many granny square books. This one is not unique except for some of the terminology. Good reviews were misleading. Overall not worth the price.

I am glad to have this book. While ago I have seen very nice project - wedding gift from large family - it was a bedspread where every family member and all relatives made a granny square, and all of them were connected in one beautiful blanket, it was gorgeous project. I wished to create something like that but I could not find such variety of suitable squares, they were not enough elegant, kind of too simple and I found them in this book, they fit the project. Very comprehensive charts and descriptions. Love it!

I own at least a dozen Granny Square books, but this one actually has some new and innovative squares. Instructions are easy to follow; love the charted illustrations.

The cover is so beautiful but the inside of the book doesn't live up to expectations. It's not photographed as well as I had the front cover leads one to believe. It's likely nice for crocheters who don't have lots of other granny square books, but I do.

Lovely book with lots of new designs. Instructions need careful reading but charts are helpful. Ideas for alternate colour ways are great and I would recommend this book as a lovely addition to a crochet library. Only criticism is the quality of the cover. It is very flimsy for a book of this price and after only a few days mine is curling up even when closed. Would have expected a more robust material for the cover. Nevertheless a lovely book.

Lovely designs. Easy instructions and clear charts. Pictures of all squares in neutral colour makes seeing patterns easy but there are examples at bottom of each square for colour changes. Great to see Australian designer and have examples using yarn from Australia. Well worth the investment. Rangers from easy to intermediate to a challenge but having both instructions and charts makes attempting a challenge square doable.

Very clear photos with extra colour ideas, charts for those who like to follow these and full written pattern as well. Patterns have a symbol for how easy or hard it is so you choose the simple ones to begin with and move up as you are more experienced. So many great ideas and projects - this book is great for beginners and more experienced crocheters who want to try some different ideas. I first found this book in my library but really wanted a copy of my own. Written by an Australian lady - I would highly recommend this book.

Está en inglés pero trae muchísimas explicaciones y sobre todo gráficos con el patrón de cada granny. Está fenomenal

Ce livre - en anglais - est vraiment très bien, chaque carré est accompagné d'une grille donc pas de problème de langue pour celles qui ne lisent pas l'anglais, il y a aussi quelques idées pour utiliser les carrés ou le choix de couleurs, très belle achat.

Ein sehr schönes Buch mit leicht verständlichen Häkelschriften und tollen Tips. Sehr zu empfehlen. Habe fast alle Muster nachgehäkelt und eine Tasche daraus genäht.

What is wrong with you? The book is fine, but look how it was delivered.

At 2050₹,this one is not cheap to invest in.While the squares are all very pretty,my attention was more on average quality of paper than the beauty of all these squares.Had the publication not cut corners on these very -easy- to -tear pages,I would have been really oohing and aahing on seeing such versatile collection of crochet squares before me.Half the charm of the book is completely lost on me. And 75% charm of all the squares is lost because of matt photographs.They are just not jumping out of the book for me.I have a lot of used books of crochet with me that were printed 10 yrs back,and they somehow feel better in my hands when I turn the pages!Every book one purchases on crafts stays with you for a long time.This one will not age well.The only saving grace is the hardcover I chose to thankfully buy!
