Very good and enjoyable FIFA
Best FIFA yet. I have no qualms about it. Shot power is realistic. Player movement is realistic (most people say it's too slow but I disagree as some players are faster than others in their reactions in real life - this is true in the game as well so...realistic). The penalties are realistic too - very different from previous years so it takes some getting used to, as well as the free kicks. But this is what keeps the game exciting and not just the new players in the teams.

Don't mess with FIFA
My intro to gaming soccer was via Konami's PES winning 11 back in the day. FIFA gaming came much later when I felt the quality of PES game play had fallen ('07-'08 period)and so I switched. No regrets after that. We all know that FIFA games has the licencing upside which Konami doesn't have. But, for those who haven't sampled both, each comes with what it does better than the other. FIFA 17 Pros: Graphic quality is one of the best in recent times. Before, fans in the rafters were just pixels, now their individuals who, though do not move and act with the AI engine quality of the players, still adds a sense of realism. GAME COMMENTARY: Here is where FIFA surpasses PES. Game commentary felt "real life" and more varied than PES. You don't get that sense of monotony that has plagued and still plagues PES. GAME-PLAY: Always a joy, but with some caveats. This year, it seems some minor things were tweaked. The dribbling mechanics is vastly improved but I noticed the shooting has changed -- albeit slightly. You will notice when you near the 18 yard box and shoot the ball goes in "lob ball" trajectory into the upper roof of the net 8 out of 10 times. Not that I'm complaining -- just an observation. I can go on and on about what's right with this, but I hit what I feel are the important ones. CONS: The well advertised new feature "The Journey" showing a kid rise through the club ranks is nowhere to be found on the PS3 version. -- Complaints about bug issues when playing online. -- The game engine is not as "real world" in smoothness as PES. FIFA's EA Sports has always been a step behind KONAMI on this. Overall I still recommend this game.
