Within the last year, I have moved from "point-and-shoot" cameras to micro-four-thirds, and whilst I have a Swiss Army Penknife, I wanted a multi-tool that I could travel with without any grey area legal issues. This SMALLRIG camera tool is perfect for my needs. It came in a sturdy cardboard box, protected by paper equivalent to bubble wrap, meaning no plastic. The tool comes in a handy velvet drawstring bag to keep it safe from scratching any gear in my camera bag. The tool is comfortable to use, and each tool is nice and stiff when used, with no floppy hinges. I mainly use it for the flathead screwdriver for removing Acra plates etc., but I am sure the other tools will come in handy. I was lucky to get this on a discount deal of just £16.72, but I think I would happily pay the full price, which at the time of review in early December 2024, is just £22.90.

Excellent build quality as you’d expect from Smallrig. Smaller than I expected and will be great to throw into my camera bag. A little too tight for my liking but easy to loosen a fraction. A few reviews here say it comes in a soft pouch and a hard case. Neither is stated in the description. Mine just came in a soft pouch so assume they’ve changed it slightly just in case anyone is bothered about that. As a few have said it’s a shame there’s not a slightly narrower flat head. This one is perfect for tripod plates but would be handy to have a smaller one for general use. Great little product.

Terrific bit of kit - well made and going to be very useful in my camera bag. It's smaller than I expected, but that's a positive thing. It also came with a little soft pouch which is a nice touch. I can now ditch those loose Allen keys, and the pennies that I use to tighten slotted screws and use this instead.

Sadly the 2.5 Allen wrench snapped first outing trying to loosen a very tight ballhead screw. It’s well designed and perfect for photography needs but not heavy-duty work. That said, customer service is outstanding and they offered me a refund or replacement. As it is such a good piece of kit I chose a replacement which was delivered quickly. Only the break prevents this being 5 stars, but the usefulness and light weight make it ideal for camera and tripod needs

Standard tool that I can’t imagine going on a shoot without. Would buy several if needed.

This SMALLRIG Folding Tool Set is incredibly well thought out and genuinely useful. As someone who constantly tweaks rigs, tightens screws, or makes small adjustments on the go, this has quickly become a must-have in my kit. The variety of tools included (like Allen keys, flathead, and Phillips screwdrivers) covers just about everything I need when working with camera gear. It feels solid and well made, and the folding design keeps everything compact and easy to carry. If you're regularly using cages, mounts, or other accessories, this is a super practical tool that makes your life easier. Highly recommend!

A great piece of kit for rigging camera gear. It has a large flat screwdriver blade which is great for fitting tripod plates, and various allen wrench sizes, ideal for adding kit to camera cages. Nice and compact, but not so small that its fiddly to use. I have large hands but I find this easy to use. Highly recommended.

I love my tools, and I love my camera essentials. This little multitool is the best of both worlds. I bought one after seeing a co-worker using it during one of our maintenance jobs in out industrial manufacturing facility. After getting details on what it was, and where he got it...I ended up finding out I had already purchased this for my camera bag. The selection of tools, while small, is made for quick camera changes. From mount adapters to cold shoe swaps, this does it all with a minimal design. The fact that I no longer need to carry a screwdriver set on photography shoots is a godsend. Plus, it's made out of sturdy material and comes with the storage case to keep it looking nice and staying nice. Another neat addition was the thread slots on the side. Essentially made to store extra bolts, it gives you a size for every camera bolt thread. I kind of utilized this as a sizer at work (bought a 2nd) so I can easily know what size bolt I need. Overall, great multitool for your camera needs. Earned its place in the camera bag, while a second one is tucked in my toolbelt at work to save me time on grabbing allen wrenches.

Kit compatto e robusto, ideale da avere sempre a portata di mano. Sia se si deve avvitare il supporto per la rod del Nucleus, sia per le viti fotografiche, questo tool fa il suo lavoro senza problemi. Gli attrezzi pieghevoli sono funzionali e resistenti per l’uso quotidiano su cage, rig e accessori SmallRig, ma non consiglio di fare estrema forza con i tool esagonali, li ho spezzati stringendo a morte. Pratico e veloce, permette di intervenire sul set senza perdere tempo a cercare strumenti sparsi. È il terzo che compro: uno l’ho perso, uno si è rotto, e questo alla fine l’ho regalato. Nonostante ciò, ne comprerò sicuramente un altro perché rimane un accessorio indispensabile per chi lavora con attrezzature modulari e vuole avere tutto a portata di mano.
