Bouillon Strainer, 8-Inch Diameter, Extra Fine Mesh, Medium, Stainless Steel

I make a lot of stocks, chicken, beef, veal etc. And I've got a course mesh china cap. That I use for straining the bones, vegs, etc. and then I do my reductions and then finally use the fine mesh strainer as the final strain. It works great. The only real hard part is cleaning, but that's not that big of a deal. I DO NOT put mine in the Dishwasher because I don't want to take the chance of something banging against it. So I hand wash it and then put it way on the wall hook. The shipping was fast, something like two days. And that was with regular shipping. I would recommend this in a second. I'm very happy with this strainer.

This is an god sent.. large enough to handle anything that needs your fine mesh... great,easy to rinse clean.. I poured curd.and gravy, soup stock comes out so clean

Very fine strainer. Eliminates any particles whatsoever. Pricey.

First of all, the description is not accurate at all. It is NOT an EXTRA-FINE MESH BOUILLON STRAINER! It is really a conical colander!!! There are basically two types of straining devices out there - one is made of a mesh (like a screen) and one is made out of perforated holes (a colander). This says "MESH," but it isn't mesh at all -- it is a metal cone perforated with holes. And, they aren't that small, either! I measured the holes, and they are between 2 and 3mm!! {See the photograph I've posted above with a penny and a dime on top of the strainer for size reference} The picture looks like it's mesh, too (in addition to saying it's "MESH") and does not resemble the perforated piece of junk I was sent, which is not useful to me at all, as I already own a round mesh strainer that is very fine. It just does not have the capacity an 8" conical bouillon strainer has. Too bad I cannot give it 0, or -5 stars!!

It’s very rigid mesh and susceptible to dents and breaks. If you need a chinois a couple times a year this is fine, but if you are using one more often just get the matfer.

I actually didn't check the size when I placed my order and was surprised to see how big it was. But it has been so useful for me and I am very happy that I bought this.
