Interesting insight
I appreciate how the author's writing feels like it's a conversation, it doesn't seem as boring as most business books. This book is well written and organized, while being insightful and practical. I found the exercises to be very beneficial. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to fine tune their skills at reading people.

Good overview on dealing with toxic people.
This book's title is deceiving, as it is does not give much information on "reading people." This book focuses on how to spot toxic and manipulative people, and how to avoid or end a relationship with them. Although fairly short, this book offers some excellent advice on how to objectively look at your relationships and take care of yourself without allowing people to manipulate you. I found valuable information in this book, but none of the topics are presented in depth (most of the info is fairly simplistic). Overall, I recommend this book, as it is a good introduction in how to deal with toxic people. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

Not as useful as i had hoped
Less informational than what i believed from the description. Also very disappointed in the severe lack of editing. Spelling and grammar trip up readers and also confuse the message. Was hoping for more in depth advice rather than a personal opinion piece.

Strategies on becoming aware of and dealing with a "bad guy".
Many of the strategies were clearly stated and descriptions given easily understood. I found some of my behavior and thinking listed among the "bad guys'", but guess can't always be a good guy.

The ad for the book said $0.99 for five days. Yet I was charged. $3.99
False advertising about kindle price. Awful!

It delivers, just not the way I expected.
Having finished this book I have mixed feelings about it.From its title I was expecting a more academic approach in both type of structure and writing. Also I was expecting a more direct approach to reading people, in terms of what to look for when in front of someone. Ian takes us in a different was, focusing on the several types of toxic people that we can find in our life’s and forcing us to reflect about those encounters. The writing feels almost conversation like and this has initially put me off (I was expecting something different), but after a while it becomes ok and I was able to read it quite well.Does it deliver on the title? Well, it does, just not the way you might initially expect. Each chapter is structured around a specific theme, there are lessons to be learned that are emphasized, and there are moments for thought and inner analysis. Overall it works.

About the Book
Big chunk of the The art of reading people is merely how to deal and described mental health disorders and their cause. That's OK but there was little saying about manipulators, schemers and similar type of people. We dealing with them on every day base regardless do we want to or not.Colleagues , horrible bosses and so on.Something more said about this type of people and how to deal with it not the description of their condition would be appreciated
