FAST grind, and great for drip makers!
Likes: Fast grinding, even oily beans. Does a nice job, and not too noisy when the COVER is put on, otherwise- it's noticeably louder. Just a little finer than medium, is how we grind our coffee. Grinds are just right for our Mr. Coffee, and Black And Decker 12 cup drip makers- Yes we have two drip coffee makers, my wife doesn't drink her coffee as strong as I like it. Dislikes: You cannot use this machine continuously to grind say, a can's worth, like I usually do. It will thermally shut down. It specifically says so in the manual. Our now deceased Cuisinart did the same thing. So, grind what you need, and if it shuts off, just wait a while to resume. Polycarbonate plastic grinds cups WILL crack and break if you hit them, or tap them on something to get all the grinds out. Don't do that! The Cuisinart had that issue, and I'm going to be much more careful with this one. Overall, if you're not a really snobby coffee eccentric, that needs perfectly uniform conical cut beans, this grinder works great. It's reasonably priced, and I like it a bit better than the Cuisinart.

Great Grinder for Low Price
I've been using my new grinder for 2 days now and I am very pleased with it. It is easy to use, looks good on the counter top, grinds fast and my coffee tastes great. I'm glad I chose this one instead of one of the more expensive ones with good reviews, this one has all the functionality that I need to make delicious coffee. I use it to grind coffee beans for espresso and french press, also for a drip machine (which I gladly tossed in the bin after getting a french press.) **** UPDATE March 10th, 2012**** I've had this grinder now for about 7 months, and still going strong! Yes, it sometimes gets coffee grounds on the counter when scooping it out but I've never seen a grinder that doesn't do that. However, I have regularly two problems with this grinder: 1. Sometimes the beans don't go through properly while grinding or get stuck, so I tend to shake it and hit the bottom gently against the counter top to get them to go on through. This is not a huge deal. Happened with my last grinder as well. 2. It likes to get clogged. The opening where the grounds come out often just plugs up completely. This happens on a regular basis (every 6-10 weeks or so maybe), especially when I grind a lot of oily dark roasted beans. To solve the problem I unplug it, remove the beans, canister, and other parts. I take something to loosen the coffee grounds that are plugging up the hole. It'll work again after that, but to really get the job done I also make sure that the grinder elements are clear, and run some rice through the grinder a couple of times. The rice picks up a lot of those oils and residue that builds up on the inside of the machine. When I've done that it works like new again. I will stick for now with my 5 star rating. We use our grinder twice every day and it is still working fine. For the really low price of this grinder I can't complain. **** UPDATE January, 2015**** Still works! :-)

Instructions need a bit more "hand holding" for uncaffinated people.
What a freaking waste of my time! I was a little suspicious when I received this and the factory box seemed to have been opened. But I let my naivete sway me and went ahead and cleaned all the parts the instructions said to clean before I tried it. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Waste of money, waste of time. I don't know if the PRODUCT is crap or if I was just shipped a "return" product that was already dead. Doesn't matter. I really needed my coffee today. Addendum: When packing this thing up to return, heard an odd "click" I hadn't heard before. Upon checking, I found that the Grind Chamber (the part the coffee grounds go into after grinding) has to be FIRMLY seated into place - producing a loud "click". In the Troubleshooting part of the User Manual, all it said was make sure the Grind Chamber is in the proper position. They don't mention the "click" there. To be fair, in the "Before First Use" section it DID say to "install into unit by pushing to lock into place" but, well, no mention of the "click". I honestly thought I had locked it into place. But . . . obviously not. Now when I push the button to run it, the coffee grinder made noise. When I put the coffee in, it grinds. YAY! And . . . now I feel stupid. Had already set up the replacement item. Cancelled that. I've used the grinder now, and found that medium is, to me, VERY fine. Like powdered sugar fine. I knew I'd have to experiment a bit to get the grind right, and that's OK. The Amazon help person was very quick, and did a great job helping me though the procedure of getting a replacement sent and giving me a way to return the product. And, the product works, and does a GREAT job of child/grandparent proofing the thing so people don't stick body parts into the device to grind up. 4 month addendum: Changed my review to a 1 star. I HATE this thing! It grinds WAY too small on the coarsest setting. Like powdered sugar. And it sticks to everything. I have to wipe the sides of the hopper every time I fill the coffee machine. And now, first time I try to clean out the innards (which it says you are supposed to do periodically) the freaking thing broke - and now only grinds at the finest setting. Can't change it. Finest setting makes mud in my coffee maker. And the "locking" mechanism never DID get easy to use. Totally disappointed! Going to buy a different grinder. I used to love Mr. Coffee products. Never again. This was a really annoying piece of crap.

I was looking for a reasonably-priced burr grinder (not a blade grinder, which can dull quickly) with different grind settings *and* (here's the kicker) some way of doling out sufficient ground coffee for a certain number of cups. This offered it all. Yes, it's loud when it grinds, but that's the nature of automatic coffee grinders. I find it excellent, and quite easy to clean. Very pleased!
