With a Statewide ban on restaurants automatically giving patrons straws, something I believe will go a long way to reducing out 12 mile island of Plastic off the Coast of California, these are PERFECT. I among the Broken People, so I have take more things than I would like in backpack with me anyway. So the very durable soft pull string case fits right into my backpack. There are 2 metal straws that I have not used yet, but I'm sure at a bar I might break one out for a Long Island Ice Tea. The package comes with 2 very sturdy wire brushes to really get into the straw and clean them well. While they Silicone, and silicone is very resilient in Dishwashers, the 2mm wall thickness, I am ABSOLUTELY POSSITIVE would NOT DO WELL IN A DISHWAHER!! But they are so quick and easy to clean, it's not at all a hassle. I bought my wife, my mom, my brothers and sisters-in-law sets as well I STRONGLY recommend these straws, if for no other reason to keeping all those polypropylene and polystyrene straws out of our water ways and landfills. There are also cellulose straws, like the ones McDonalds has switched to using. But they are good for many uses and they are not easily found commercially. Now if we went back to using glass containers, well glass is both cheap to recycle and can be recycled, in theory, FOREVER. Besides, sodas taste SO MUCH better out of bottle, just like Beer. But this product is a BIG WINNER. I HIGHLY suggest everyone get a set!!! Polyethylene terephthalatenor PETs, theoretically never break down in Landfills or in water. Like anybody else who’s buying these, we are trying to live more sustainably and avoid the toxic effects of plastic for both the earth and our bodies. Straws help my husband drink more liquids. He lives in a constant state of dehydration, so straws help him a lot. And I have thinning enamel. Carbonated beverages (even sparkling water) and other beverages that are acidic (like juice) wear on the enamel. (So grateful my dentist told me this a few years ago before I did even more damage!) When you drink from a straw, you bypass your teeth, thereby protecting them from acid erosion. So, we really want straws to be part of our lives! These straws are perfect. As you can see from the photo, they fit just right in my regular drinking glass (purchased at crate and barrel, stands about 7 1/2 to 8 inches high). I like the bend – it helps when I am sipping from the straw while in a reclined position, such as in bed or in the tub. I like that there are a variety of colors to help you keep track of which drink is yours. It comes with two metal straws that I haven’t tried yet. The cleaning brushes are perfect and easy to use. And I really love that all of this is neatly enclosed in a nice little muslin bags they give you. Perfect for easy storage in the cabinet where we keep them. Finally, I am the most sensitive to smell person that I know, and these have no odor. I am going to avoid putting them in the dishwasher because previous silicone products I have owned have picked up the smell of dishwasher detergent over time. Actually, what I might do, is run a test on just one of the straws to see if these do pick up the dishwasher detergent smell. If it smells like detergent, there must be some residue on there – and it disturbs me to think I am sipping tiny little bits of dishwasher detergent along with my sparkling water! I’ll report back after running my experiment for those few folks out there like me who notice and care about this sort of thing.

Less noise, less waste, sturdy but not firm enough to stir drink mixes in, except for the included metal straws of course. I needed new reusable straws for my 20-32 oz. metal travel cups, to be quieter and to be longer than the 8.5 inch stainless steel straws I already have. Pros: * These are a perfect length for my cups. * I like the angle/bend. * They are quiet (silicone only). * There are more than enough straws included (I’m the only user in the house generally and I use straws daily). * The set includes 2 stainless steel straws, and 2 brushes to scrub their insides. Con: * I miss being able to stir my drink mixed into water in my cup with the straw. It was a convenience not to dirty or need another utensil. Neutral/depends on your needs: * These are narrow straws, not wide, so don’t plan on drinking anything particularly thick through this set. Conclusion: When I look for straws again I’ll look for something sturdier, fully coated in silicone so it meets all my needs. Still, I’m happy with this purchase and there are plenty of good drinks to use these with.

Bought this mixed set of straws to see how environmentally-friendly options compared to typical one-use plastic straws. The silicone straws are great; easy to clean and easy to use. We use these constantly in our house, no problems so far. The stainless steel straws were used once, then left unused in a drawer ever since. Based on other customers' reviews, this wasn't entirely unexpected but still a bit disappointing. It's not a matter of manufacturing or quality, more a matter of personal preference. The straw conducts hot/cold from the beverage to the top, the hardness of the metal straw feels weird if you're used to plastic straws, and there was a bit of metallic taste even after washing. Might just taking some getting used to, but since the silicone straw worked so well, didn't even bother going back to the metal straw.

El silicón es de buena calidad. Al principio tenían un sabor muy leve al silicón. Se le quitó y están muy bien .
