How to Tune and Modify Motorcycle Engine Management Systems (Motorbooks Workshop)

If there is a more modern or better book on the subject i'd like to know.I have read this book twice and use it to refer to all the time. It's a must have for all trainee motorcycle mechanics and for the enthusiast it is not a lot of money to own this very educational book.

I were looking for a comprehensive book about electronic fuel systems and how to install them.My particular interest is to change the carburetor on my small 2 cylinder Citroen car and to replace it by EFI.This book is a great help!Thank you.

If you want to understand motorcycle engine management systems this us the book for you.Information is a few years old but for me I learned a lot

Good catch-up information on the modern bikes and their electronic controls of fuel injection and such. Miss the olde days of Amal carburation and Lucas electrics...like I miss the plague!Good reading.

GOOD

I purchased this book with hopes that it would cover more trouble shooting and diagnostic information, not the case. Majority of the book seemed to be more geared on giving information on products you can research online for free. The editor did not do a very good job of paying attention to detail as the book has several typo's and get very monotonous. It's critical when you can not remember rider A from rider B when you are attempting to explain torque vs horsepower. Overall, I would not recommend this book when there is truly only a chapter of good information.

I bought this book hoping that it would be a good reference book to keep and add to my library.. The overall information is good but not very organized, I find it funny when he suggests using octane boosters and fuel injection tuning with a masking tape wrapped around the throttle grip, I would like to believe that the author has never actually dyno tuned a bike on a dyno machine... (and yes that is what I do for a living). Awesome book for beginners, keyboard jockeys and forum surfers .

Excelente libro y muy bien ilustrado

pone le basi sul funzionamento di motori che lavorano a circuito chiuso (con feedback di sonda lambda e sensori vari). dentro ci sono alcune perle interessanti per gli appassionati autodidatti come me che non hanno una base scolastica sul funzionamento di motori. il mio obiettivo non era imparare a rimappare o risolvere problemi ma capire il funzionamento e la logica di una centralina closed-loop e direi che grazie a questo libro ci sono riuscito, magari più avanti ne comprerò uno per auto (diesel e benzina) se esiste

Interesting for a car owner and tuner to get to know bike EFI systems.

Good book but a little over my head.I bought it as I had recently purchased a Power Commander for my 2010 Honda VFR 1200 and I thought it would offer some simple explanation to the whole subject of 'mapping' and fuel supply in general. It does all of these things I think but as I said it is a little too technical for me.So unless you are really into this subject make sure it is at your level before you buy.
