Helpful but not the best tool
While you can test the piping up to the device shut-offs, you cannot do any practical testing of the devices and their hookups past the shutoffs. This is because this gauge is not sensitive enough to detect slow low pressure losses (2 lb. or less) quickly, but only losses over time (hours). My gas utility only pressurizes to 8 oz. In fact, this very gauge still reads Zero (0) at that pressure (hint: you need a better one). That said, we successfully got a water heater shutoff valve repair done and pressure tested. You have to remember a decent, sensitive gauge (for say, up to 15 in. water column/ about 8 ounces) will cost you a good deal more.

Good value for infrequent use
Thin wall fitting doesn't allow you to apply much torque to get a tight seal on 3/4" black pipe, but if you are careful and use a good pipe dope, is does the job and is a great value. I tested my gas pipe at 25psi and had only a +/- 0.25 psi variation over a week depending on outdoor temps...guage is easy to read, but some inspectors may require a 15 psi scaled guage--check with your building department

Might work ok, but you may have to seal it better.
As many others have had issues too, I had a leak where the gauge screws into the body. I had to remove the gauge and use pipe dope on it and then it was ok. It's a bit disappointing that so many have had leaking problems with this, but I'm glad it's working ok after the dope.

Works good!
Was disappointed in how it arrived. The box it was in was torn and taped back together like it was used. Thought I was buying new. Product was fine though.

Not the best quality
I messed around with this for hours--like others. I isolated the leak to the gauge itself. I had to use pipe dope on the connection--tape had a very slow leak. The 3/4" threads don't seem robust--doubt it will hold up with repeated uses. Others insist the oil-filled types are better, which I may try next if this one continues to be iffy.

Four Stars
Haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I can't see any reason it wouldn't work!

Did what it was suppused to do. I ran my house with new gas lines and needed to pressure test to ensure I didnt have any leaks. The assembly worked well and did not leak at any of the threads.

Works great. Instead of paying someone hundreds of dollars to perform gas line pressure tests, I know do it myself, the utility companies do not require a professional to perform these tests, the homeowner can do their own. Great investment for the real estate flipper, landlord or homeowner.
