YHTAUTO Front Driver Side Power Door Lock Latch Actuator for Toyota

Looked exactly like the factory part it replaced and worked great. I could not find any videos of someone installing this on a Scion TC. The one to watch is the one where they are replacing the lock mechanism on a Toyota Camary. It is exactly the same (inside door handle is different) but it is very close. Two things you want to do to make it easier to do is to remove the outside key lock and remove the bolt holding the window track in place. These two things make it much easier to do and will save you a lot of time and headaches. You also do not need to remove the inside door handle or unhook the metal door handle rod at the top. After you remove the window track bolt you will simply lower the locking mechanism and it will slide out of the hole in the bottom. Releasing it from the top is a major pain and difficult to reinstall. As for the inside handle where the cables connect to the locking mechanism, just work the mechanism out and transfer the cables to the new mechanism and then re-install. If you do want to remove the door hand you will need to pop the stop out of the hole on the left side then slide the entire handle to the left and it will come out. Oh yea, make sure you have a T30 torx as you will need it to remove the 3 screws that hold the locking mechanism in place and to loosen the outside door lock assembly. Took me about an hour and a half to complete the job but about 30 minutes of that was spent watching videos trying to figure out what the best way to remove and replace the lock was. The hints above would have helped tremendously so hopefully, if you have a TC this will save you some time.

The product worked perfect. Was a little difficult getting in and out and took a little extra time compared to the other doors. You do have to remove window guide and loosen handle to get it out but overall, worked great

I liked the value of the part and that it works but I have to say when closing the door the new actuator feels a little stiff making you into using more effort to close the door., we are not talking about a lot of effort either so that’s why 4stars

As the other reviews stated, this part is defective. I'm not sure if the manufacturer modified their tooling at some point, but the portion of the mechanism where the door lock cylinder attaches to the door lock actuator is keyed. On the unit I received, it was 90 degrees out of phase. I disassembled the unit and swapped in the little plastic bushing from my broken OE unit. If I hadn't done this, it would have been unusable. Moreover the plastic bushing/fitting is keyed from both sides, so simply turning it 90 degrees wouldn't have worked; you need the OE part to swap if you elect to do so. Having seen the unit disassembled the quality of materials used is much poorer, as are the tolerances. However, for an over 1000% savings on the list price of the OE part, that is to be expected.

By far the lowest priced door latch assembly available for my 2011 Toyota Sienna. It was a direct replacement for the one in the van and worked perfectly.
