Secures the attic door.
I got this to keep our attic door from popping open. It is very sturdy latch and does what we bought it for.

Easy to install, good fit and finish
Installed on a gate exposed to sun and rain. Easy to install. All hardware included. No sharp edges or machining errors.Only installed a month ago, but no rust or wear yet.

Easy install and functions nicely

Installed on 2 gates in less than an hour
I chose this latch for 2 reasons: First, because it's stainless steel, Second, because it latches automatically. I installed 2 of these to replace the original coroding hasps on 2 gates. Took less than an hour including removal of the old hardware. They were easy to position & align & the provided stainless steel screws work perfectly with my wooden gates.The automatic latch works smoothly - just swing the gate closed to engage. Releasing the latch blindly from the other side is no problem - simply lift the catch lever.The catch lever can be locked with a small padlock, but I have no need to lock my gates.
