Does this simply turn on and off, or does it have that annoying sos blinking to press through?

Yes it does blink first, if you press it on and off you get the normal beam. Having said that it is a good torch , very bright with an adjustable beam, I use it every night walking the dog.

how many lumens does this torch have?

As a recent purchaser of this particular model, I can only compare it to a cumbersome larger version which radiated 1,000 lumens when I was doing security work. This torch is much smaller and I reckon that it produces in the range of 1,500/2,000 lumens. It stipulates Pro S1,600; so I reckon that I've made a good approximation with regards to luminosity. It does advertise for tactical use and not for children. It certainly packs a punch in that department and is a lot brighter than the one I had. This is certainly aided by the large convex sense and powerful LED filament. But one! You won't be disappointed by its performance and robust tactile grip.

Which batteries would be better to use in a torch?

It is recommended to use 18650 rechargeable batteries or 26650 rechargeable batteries for the torch as it allows for optimum illumination.

What's the warrenty on this torch please?

One year. The photo that is shown in someone’s hand, must be the smallest hand ever, was disappointed in the actual size of the torch. Be warned!!!
