Bought a bunch, hardly any fail.
I bought a lot of these and have kept them cool and dry. They work great about 95% of the time. There is an occasional dud or I strike wrong but, they are pretty good. I wouldn't say "strike anywhere" but, strike a lot of places seems fitting.

What's not to like?
I love strike-anywhere matches & quite frankly can't understand why I can't just go buy them from the store anymore. That being said. These came as advertised... and they work. Plain and simple. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is they feel thin, and I haven't tested them on very many striking surfaces.

Small matches break easily. Lights well on the box.
I have tried Diamond "Green Light" matches, Red Bird matches and Penley Strike anywhere matches (I bought over four master cases of Penleys!) and now Uco Strike Anywhere matches. My recollections of old Diamond matches and Ohio Blue Tip matches are pretty good. My dad smoked a brier pipe and I used to love lighting them when he wasn't watching. He definitely leaned towards buying Ohio Blue-Tips.Strike anywhere matches are nowhere near as explosive as they used to be. They don't light anywhere near as well as they used to. That's not news to phillumenists. So, of the imperfect field of four I've looked at are ranked this way:1. Uco2. Penley3. Diamond Green Light4. Red BirdsUco lights about 15% easier than Penleys and have a satisfying phosphorus flare-up that Penleys are more deficient in. The splint "the stick" of the Ucos seem slightly better than the Penleys. Very slightly. The Uco box has a wider striker strip too; not that its that important, right? I actually suspect that the Ucos are made by the same manufacturer as the Ucos. Both are/were made in Chile. Their appearance is quite similar. Of course, telling a match from a match isn't that easy anyways, right? The amount of phosphorus white burn on the Ucos makes them stand-out however.Penleys light about 20% easier than Diamond Green Light. Diamonds do seem to have slightly better splints.Red Birds have thin, crummy splints that break quite easily. Really, aside from striking on the box, Red Birds aren't that useful. Calling them strike anywhere is disingenuous. They do light easier than Diamond Green Light matches. I am somewhat heavy-handed and oafish, which make the Red Birds more prone to breaking. Some people who are more deft might be able to get better results than I do, but I guess I have to review based on my experiences.Overall, I'd say if you want the best possible, go with the Ucos. If you want to be be more frugal, the Diamond green lights. I would LOVE to see somebody selling master cases of the Ucos. I may contact Knife Country USA and inquire further.

Tiny Matches
I bought these matches because strike anywhere matches are hard to come by and the green ones that are available are marginal according to many reviews. I saw these with the red head and thought they would be like the strike anywhere matches of the past. I was disappointed when I received them to see how small they were in both length and thickness. I was also disappointed to see how inconsistent the white self ignitor portion of the matches are. Some of them had barely enough white to see and others had nice full coverage. I'm not sure that any two matches in a box had the same amount of white on them. On the plus side, they did work on any rough surface. The matches are functional, but not particularly useful for my intended purpose. Make sure that you'll be happy with these matches before committing to such a large number.

was a learning experience
when i first tried strike anywhere matches i did not know that a rough surface is preferable ie concrete but these have proven to be very good unlike other brands i have tried. the only downside is my own error in that if you press to hard the head will come off and render the match uselessother than that this is a good company

Small wooden matches
These are not like the typical strike-anywhere matches. They are in tiny boxes and have tiny matches in side. They work fine but with a little fire. You can buy them in Canada at the department store called Canadian Tire at 10 boxes for 2 Canadian dollars . I know, I just bought 6 packages of 10.
