Not sure if it is because we have well water here but these do seem to deplete faster than recommended. They are great, especially when you first start them out. Water seems to slow down after about 2 to 3 month mark and at 3 to 4 months it seems like they are ready to be replaced. We are really stretching it if we get 6 months out of these.

I replaced another filter with this one and I am much happier with this new filter. Like the last model, the water has no taste. However, it’s much easier to change cartridges with the new filter. Just a twist and the job is done, as opposed to the difficulties I used to have getting the old filter casing open and then tightened after so it wouldn’t leak. None of these are cheap, but this model was also less expensive than my old one.

This filter was cracked ... So after I installed it it caused a massive flood that flooded my kitchen, basement and destroyed priceless family documents in the basement.
