Adding an SSD to ASUS Rog Gaming laptop
I purchased this ribbon to Sata connector to add an SSD to my laptop for more gaming storage. I connected this with in minutes and no issues so far. Played some games off of it for hours with no issues.

For the moment, it’s working perfectly in my laptop Asus Vivobook K513EQ. Easy to install and good price. I used this cable conector for additional storage in my laptop. 1 TB, SSD 2.5.

Worked fine on my ASUS X512D
Although I don't think it's shown in the product description, my connector shipped with an extra cable and spacers for securing the SSD. It also came with screws for the SSD. YRMV of course, but it was a nice surprise to get the additional installation materials and a backup cable.

Did the job nicely
Nice product which I used to install a second SSD in my Asus Vivobook X513UA laptop. I have more than 35 year experience as a computer hardware technician and repairman so installing this was a quick and easy task. For those without any experience, it is not for the faint of heart. First, there are NO instructions at all -- you are totally on your own. You need to remove the entire back of most laptops, then locate the auxiliary HDD connector, which in my case was hidden under a metal support bracket. Then, complete the installation and place the cover back on. I rated this 4 stars for ease of installation, but that's for an experienced tech - not a first timer. For non technical users, you might want to enlist the help of someone with some sort of experience with this sort of thing. Update: 2 years later and this thing is still working perfectly. I just replaced the drive I originally installed with another larger one. Everything was exactly as I had left it two years ago. Changing out the drive was just as quick and easy as the original installation. This type of silicon "harness" sometimes tear over time, but this one had not, nor did it show any signs that it might tear in the near future.

Comes with screws
I bought an Asus Strix II gaming laptop with an M.2 SSD, planning to put this SSHD in the unused bay. Because I’m an idiot, I didn’t notice that it actually had this cable in the box, so when I didn’t see one on opening the laptop I ordered this and some screws. No fault to this product, but my high end gaming laptop actually used a proprietary connector so it was good that it came with one as this wouldn’t work. In all my considerable time fixing and modding computers, I never ran into that issue with a sata cable before. (Though I have seen similar propriety crap in gaming desktop motherboards and chassis.) Had this been any other laptop, this would have been perfect. One thing not mentioned in the description was that it actually came with a set of 4 HDD screws and a spare cable, presumably in case you tore the first. A very good deal!

Upgraded ssd to laptop
I was able to use this to increase the storage on my nephews laptop. The rubber ssd cage was a perfect fit, as originally I thought I would need double sided top and some foam to hold it in place. Super straight forward, only thing awkward was bending the cable once installed but that‘a because of the laptops ssd port not the product

Cheap and works
Easy to use (just a ribbon cable), cheap, works. Used this for a storage upgrade on my girlfriends laptop.
