The W5500 works with the Arduino Ethernet library. Using that lib you can use either static IP or DHCP (at a greater code size), and this enables the Client class for other libraries or your code to use. Check out the W5500 datasheet for more info on features.This board can be powered by either 5V or 3.3V (both pins are present on the header). Note that this board draws about 700mW of power when link up, so be sure to have that in your power budget, the on-board regulator of a smaller Arduino may not be able to power it reliably without a voltage sag.The 2 mounting holes are good, but it'd be nice if htere was another one at the back of the board as well.

The 5V pin on the device will properly power it. I at first had problems with the adapter, no link, etc... and figured out that I was not supplying enough power. If you are powering it from an arduino NANO, make sure you have enough power to do so. The 3.3 volt was not enough from the Nano, and the 5V has to be from PIN 5V, NOT VIN. Use the standard current Ethernet Library if using an Arduino and all will be fine.This is a solid device. Lack of documentation provided with the device, but information is available with some good Google Fu.

Got this working with both an Arduino nano and an uno but it took some work to find the right data sheets for the correct wiring.

The module I received had two of the header pins jumped with a small glob of solder. I did not notice this prior to supplying it power to test it, and it got very hot. After clearing the short the module does not work.Edit: Customer service didn't do anything to resolve the issue. One star.

This module was dead on arrival
