These wire wipers work
Started to notice a “chatter” in my small MIG welder (I weld a lot of thin-walled steel tubing). Upon inspection of the wire feed area I noticed a bunch of junk under my wire spool. They are pre-slit and attach around the wire at the spool. But keep an eye on them if you run 10 pound or greater spools of wire as they may need changing. Changed the liner on my welder and noticed crud in the old one. All my wire welders have them now.

GOOD choice.. Preventative maintenance for your mig liners.
It works, price is best I could find. Good deal. It keeps clean the inside of your mig gun assembly liner. Cleans the wire itself of contaminant's BEFORE entering the mig liner.. Improve's & lengthens the lifespan of the liner itself. Along with reducing 'skipping' (to a degree) of internal liner 'wire drag', due to dirt & contaminants. It may not be noticeable to a novice welder, but it does improve the overall weld quality, long term. And reduces the number of liners you'll be buying, over the lifetime of the machine.. Same reason you change the oil in your car. GOOD maintenance.. Simple.
