Step 2: Heat the branding iron on a gas stove, blowtorch, or grill for 0.5-10 minutes. Step 3: Test the iron on a scrap piece of wood to check the temperature. Step 4: Position the iron over the wood where you want the brand. Step 5: Press the branding iron firmly onto the wood for 2-5 seconds. Step 6: Let the iron cool naturally (do not immerse it in water) and clean it before storing. Recommended heating time For size 1"-1.5" time: 30s-1.5 mins. Very nicely crafted and intricate design.
Came As described. I made a custom logo and sent electronic file black and white, per their instructions. All went very smoothly. Came slow mail but works very nicely.I’m pleased to add my name to wood art now for generations to see.

Exactly What I Was Looking For!
*NOTE: please DO NOT judge this product by my photos.. I AM NOT GOOD AT THIS STUFF - please read the whole review first!***My dad has done woodworking my entire life. He's the kind of guy that has 10 of every tool you can imagine and some you didn't know existed. He's a hardworking guy and never asks or wants anything for special days like his birthday.. which is in December. So buying gifts for him is DIFFICULT!!!Every year I try to find something that he will really like that he doesn't already have. Gift cards to hardware stores is a coward's way out! So, I am always on the lookout for something SPECIAL!Somehow I got lucky and came across this product. I figured it might be nice since he recently got a lathe and has been playing more in his mancave. So I designed one for him (they offer A VARIETY of styles to choose from!) and ordered it. I was afraid it might not make it in time for our celebration, but to my pleasant surprise I got it in PLENTY of time!When it arrived, I HAD to try it out (I have torches for my grill as this particular kind is not electrical)... as you can see by the photos, I am NOT good at this! lol But I know in the right hands (MY DAD'S) this is going to be the perfect addition to all of his projects that are more gorgeous than my dad will ever admit to! I love it and I know he will too!!!Highly recommend this as a great gift for woodworking tinkerers and pros alike!!

Cool brand, bad quality control
The brand itself—so good. But the wood box mine came in is too small to even fit the brand into—why send it? And it looks like the Oopsed, on the back when drilling the hole to attach the handle—there’s two holes—looks like they were way off center the first time so just made a second one. Whatever with the holes, but the box is a big bummer because this is a gift for my dad.

heat to333°F. Press for 10 – 20 seconds
The 1½” branding iron arrived today after 28 days to fab & ship. Works great. Used a propane torch for ~ 60 seconds to heat. The Infrared Thermometer indicated 333°F which works well. Important to practice with a piece of scrap wood of the same type and finish. Press firmly into the wood for 10 – 20 seconds and gently rock top to bottom and side to side for the best image. My design is difficult to tell right side up from the back. The ad says “You can use the pen to make a mark on the opposite side of the stamp.” This is a poor solution. I used a center punch to mark the top, backside. Intended to drill it, but the center mark was adequate.The stamp is apparently machined with very good detail. I thought it might be photo-etched.Great gift for a wood worker. Probably will work cold on leather hard clay.

I bought this as a gift for my woodworking husband. It hasn't been used as yet (for Christmas), but it appears to be a quality product. The image is straight and clear, well made.I had the storage box included, and it is beautiful. I was so very impressed with the care taken to secure and wrap the product for shipping. I am happy with this purchase. Recommend.
