Ergon - SM Comp Men's MTB Saddle

I recently got into legit mountain bike trail riding. As a beginner, I was frustrated with the stock saddle that came on my Northrock XC27 that I've had for almost 6 years (rode primarily on flat, hard-packed trails and blacktop). After a few years, I noticed that it would make my cheeks sore and cut off circulation to my man parts, which felt really weird once I got off the bike. But I would just constantly shift my weight around as I rode and dealt with it, in order to get out and ride. Finally, I decided enough was enough. After researching and going through several saddles, I can say without a doubt this Ergon SM Pro is the only one I've tried that doesn't cut off circulation or make me feel fatigued and sore after riding for longer periods. I could tell right away as I broke the saddle in, that it was perfect for my size and shape (I'm 5'11", 195lbs), and the pressure I always felt on my sit bones was reduced dramatically. It's funny, because as a novice trail rider, I immediately assumed my issue was lack of padding, and the thicker the saddle, the better. But that is not the case. This Ergon is the slimmest of the ones I tried, but the quality of the cushioning, and shape of the saddle, really do matter, and I noticed it immediately when I got on my bike. I liked it so much that when I got my $2K Salsa Timberjack hardtail back in July, I immediately swapped out the stock WTB saddle with my Ergon. All in all, I don't mind spending a little more for a saddle that works. While often overlooked by casual riders, it's an essential component to the riding experience, and can make or break your enjoyment of the sport. And the price is not bad at all, when you consider there are saddles on the market that cost hundreds of dollars more than this Ergon. Now, grab yourself a saddle that works for you, and get out and ride!

This saddle’s been a game changer on my mountain bike over the stock saddle. Installed on a Trek Roscoe 8 which see super high mileage on gravel and single track. Didn’t have a ton of issues per se but my butt was getting sore on those longer rides of 50+ miles. This saddle has helped immensely and gives me longevity. Sit bones feel good and no numbness in the groin.

I’ve been riding bicycles for seventy years. Over that time I have enough on marginally acceptable saddles that if saved would have allowed me to buy a bigger house. This saddle is so good that I purchased two extras to make sure that when I need a replacement I have it on hand. I’m currently using this saddle on my LightSpeed titanium frame up build, my Specialized Levo SL, Specialized Camber, and my Gary Fisher Mt Tam. Finally a saddle that is strangely comfortable and efficient. I just hope they continue to build and sell this model. If you’re looking for a saddle give one a try. If it doesn’t work for you as it does for me send it back and get a refund.

Replaced my WTB seat on my MTB with this one. Its definitely a step up in comfort but just in that it reduces numbness. It didn't do anything for cushion comfort. Ok, so I rated it a 4 star bike seat to help steer folks in the right direction. This is a good men's MTB seat. I only gave it 3 stars because of value for money though. Personally, I think it probably should be priced at most around $80 or $90. If your out of the seat and standing on the peddles often, maybe using your drop post, then this seat will work well for you. Glad I bought it. Wish I could have saved some money though.

El asiento es muy ergonómico, con acabados muy buenos, el acolchado es perfecto para el mtb xc, gracias a su canal central el uso es cómodo y sin molestias en salidas largas de 3 o 4 horas.

I have been using Ergon products ( handgrips) for many years. They are awesome. I have had hand injuries and they enable me to ride my Mtn bikes without undo problems. I was curious about the saddles. It is the most comfortable saddle I have yet to own. I probably have about 40 miles on it. Just prior to receiving the saddle i took a nasty fall. I would not be riding at all without it right now. It is an amazing bit of engineering. I am very much looking forward to logging more miles with this saddle. I ride in an Urban/suburban environment with less than perfect road surfaces. It takes the "edge " of the road quite well. Just bought the second one for my single speed, i took a brooks off....

The comfort is fine, it's much better than the seat that came with my mtb. It's noisy during my ride though. There was so much creaking and squeaking I pulled over to see if something was messed up on my bike. After some investigation I realized the sound was only happening when I was seated and pedaling. I tightened it up on the post but that didn't help at all. The problem is how the top of the seats attaches to the rails. Pretty disappointing for the price.

The reviews have been spot on. It looks great and feels great. Felt great on gravel, ive gone through Texas roots sitting down and it feels great. I highly recommend for XC mountain bike racers

Ich habe mir den Ergon Fahrradsattel für meine längeren Mountainbike Touren gekauft. Schon beim ersten Aufsitzen merkt man den Unterschied zu anderen Sätteln. Der Komfort ist unschlagbar, vor allem dank der speziellen Polsterung und der ergonomischen Form, die genau auf die männliche Anatomie abgestimmt ist. Selbst nach mehreren Stunden im Sattel hatte ich keine Beschwerden, kein Taubheitsgefühl, keine Schmerzen. Besonders loben möchte ich auch die hochwertige Verarbeitung. Der Sattel fühlt sich sehr robust an und macht einen langlebigen Eindruck. Auch optisch passt er perfekt zu meinem Rad und verleiht ihm einen sportlichen Look. Wer häufig und lange auf dem Rad unterwegs ist, sollte definitiv in den Ergon Sattel investieren. Es lohnt sich!
