Not for generation 2 CVT
I bought this looking at the label and saying it was for all Honda CVT transmissions. Then got under my car and saw the sticker that says HCF 2 on the label directly next to the fill hole in the transmission. Mine is a 2016 fit with the second generation CVT. Make sure you get the right fluid. The genuine Honda is a couple dollars more for the second generation and they have it here on Amazon as of March 2024.

Fixed Honda CVT
If you have a first generation Honda CVT then do not use anything else except this. I didn't listen to everyone saying to only use genuine Honda CVT fluid and bought another brand which stated it would work. Sure, the other brand didn't ruin my transmission but it would occasionally slip a little. I bought this and could immediately tell a difference. I cannot overstate how much of a difference this made. No more slipping or stuttering with my transmission. Don't be like me and ignore the advice to use only genuine Honda CVT fluid if you have a Honda with a CVT. Use this and you will not have an issue.

Use only Honda CVT fluid or you will do damage
Also, thumping and loss of fuel mileage. These CVT transmissions are very sensitive as is the Hybrid 1.3 when not using Honda 0W20 Full Synthetic

Only Use Honda CVT
This is the ONLY thing you want to use in your Honda with a CVT transmission. Don't try to use anything else to save a few bucks, people do and then end up having to flush their transmission and then buy the Honda product. Save yourself the headache and do it right the first time.

it is recommended to replace / refill @ 3qts every other oil ...
This is essential for all first generation Honda CVT transmissions. In my application, it is recommended to replace / refill @ 3qts every other oil change. Whether you buy this here or elsewhere, please use only this Honda specific fluid for your CVTs. It is expensive but cheap insurance for long life and a smooth CVT. Generally if your CVT has a shudder, replacing the fluid is most likely the cure (sometimes a reset drive is in order/ for my car it is accelerating up to 37mph (without any accessories on) and allowing the car to decrease speed to 10mph then accelerating normally after that. That typically resets the bands within the CVT transmission -- NOTE PLEASE DO THIS SAFELY AND IN A LITTLE USED ROADWAY)

Best price on honda insight cvt fluid
I changed the cvt fluid in a 2003 honda insight. Measured the fluid that came out as it was right on the mark and put the same amount back in. Online consensus is to use original equipment Honda Cvt fluid so I did. Changing the cvt fluid is super easy. Easier than an oil change. After putting in the new cvt fluid, the car no longer shudders from a start and downshifts much smoother. Be sure to get a new cvt drain plug washer.

Fake Fluid
Counterfeit. Not real Honda fluid, do not buy.

Only the best for early Honda CVTs
Only the best for early Honda CVTs! We lived in Japan for 3 years and our Honda Fit was experiencing slipping starting from a dead stop (a common issue if you don't keep up with the fluid changes). We replaced the fluid and solved most of the issues. Slipping mostly dissipated but permanent damage was already done to the transmission by the previous owner. With the fluid changed we were able to stop the damage and it lasted us for our time in Japan.
