CURT 57404 4-Way Flat Vehicle-Side Trailer Wiring Adapter for 1-1/4-Inch License Plate Light Hole

Simply drilled a 1.25” hole with a step drill in the lower part of my bumper fascia, popped this connector in place and connected the trailer wiring from the other side. Looks way better than OEM on my RAV4.

Used this to install an external harness connection on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I picked up a 1-3/16" hole saw (stepped retainer area 1-3/16" diameter), pushed right into plastic bumper (about hitch level). I used clear general purpose RTV sealer to keep from moving or rotating. Ran Curt harness thru tire well to outside of frame, cut groove into plug then sprayed rubber undercoating for water tight seal. I did trim a small amount of material from Curt light plug that was routed thru mfr. hole in frame, otherwise no modifications.Worked very well and looks great!

This was perfect for installing a neat-looking wiring harness in my bumper. I hate dangling wires.

Install was a little tricky to figure out. Works like it should after installed.

This plug fit reasonably well into the Curt 57208 "4,5, & 6-way Round Mounting Bracket", which in turn mounted nicely on the built-in bracket on my new Draw-Tite hitch. The plug fits loosely enough in the bracket that it turns a little and I may need to better secure it with some RTV but overall this is an excellent solution and is going to be a lot more convenient than rummaging around inside the hatch of my Crosstrek to find the trailer connector.

Very simple piece of equipment. I installed it through the bumper of my car with a short extension cable from the trunk. So far it has stood up to the local car wash brushing and has not failed me on working trailer lights. Cars don't often get pushed anymore so this low profile device should last a long time if positioned well on the bumper.Bottom Line :) Exactly what I was looking for to keep wind, rain, & weather off my trailer hook up.

i am super happy to have found this plug. i thought that in buying a new truck (2020 f150) that it would automaticly be beside my licence plate, but no. so i bought this and made a circle of small holes with a small bit, then removed the center and used a round file to make the circle perfect size. then pushed the plug in using a bit of force and PERFECT..:) i then pulled the truck plug from the braket and pluged it in the back of this "adapter" (sealed it with electrical anti corrosion jelly and electrical tape) i had my spare tire off at the time to have the underside of my truck coated for anti rust. so i could easily reach. LOVE this plug..it's finally where it's supposed to be...lol
