Excellent for camera flashes
The EBL rechargeable batteries are my favorite to use in my camera flashes. They don't recharge quickly but they last a long time in the flash unit and it is easy enough to order this many and have backup. The 8 battery charger is great too as it only takes up one space on a power strip. My last one was only four in a larger wall unit which wasn't always great for limited outlets while traveling. Again, I exclusively use these in camera flashes and really like them.

Update!
Update: so now that I’ve had these for about a year or so I’ve noticed 2 things. 1. The ones that are charged but not being used yet don’t hold their full charge. Example: I have an electronic touchscreen type front door lock and I changed the batteries to some that I previously charged but were sitting on a shelf next to the charger for a couple months or so and they were dead already. So now I leave them a the charger all the time. Efficient and 100% safe? Probably not! 2. They definitely don’t seem to last as long as Duracel or Energizer (non-chargeables) like I said previously. I will say that for the money they cost, and money you save being rechargeable they are definitely still worth it and I’ll still recommend them. But if you are looking for long life or 100% reliability then these are not what you are looking for and I don’t recommend. (First review) I bought 2 of these sets (16 AA batteries and a charger (8slot) and replaced all the batteries in the tv remotes, (3 teenagers) game console remotes, and anything else that needed them in the whole house and haven’t had to buy batteries for months. They work great and have lasted for months at a time. I haven’t noticed any difference from when we bought the expensive name brand batteries.

Great charger
Excellent charger. Love that you can charge so many batteries at once. Charges quickly and is easy to use. Batteries are easy to put in and remove and the lights make it easy to know how far along it is in the charging process. Very good value for the money and will save a fortune by not having to buy batteries all the time.

Reliable -- long lasting batteries; the charger, not so much
Update: Look closely at the photo. The orange lights indicate that batteries are charging. When done it turns green. The first two battery slots on the left are empty, but the orange light is on. I tried charging batteries, but these two positions indicated by the one light are just dead. So I'm down to six charging stations. Previous: I got my first set of EBL rechargeable batteries 2 years ago. I use them with outside LED solar lights and inside with LED candles. For those uses they are still going strong. The outside use is impressive because we have temperature swings from 5 degrees to 105. Doesn't seem to matter. Once each Spring I bring them in and charge them on a charger. Other than that, they're on their own. The charger included in this set is compact and easy to use. With my old charger, it is hard to get batteries in and out. This one is easy.

Great product at a good price
Works great and saves a ton on constantly having to buy batteries. They seem slightly bigger than normal batteries but still fit.

UPDATE Charger lasted only 7 months
UPDATED REVIEW: I am very happy to change my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. When I contacted the company about the charger malfunction they immediately offered a replacement or a refund. I had already purchased another EBL charger, but the second time I made certain it was not a USB charger. Immediately they set in motion a refund for the product . We now have 4 EBL chargers (2 for AA & AAA, 1 for D batteries, and 1 for 9volt ). We use EBL batteries for our church sound system as well as other things. They are used every week and they are working great. We were going through 12 to 20 batteries every 3 weeks. This has been an awesome money saver for us. Below is my previous review This charger worked great for about 6 months then it stopped charging. Upon searching for this product to write a review I noted that the site now specifically states the appropriate amp required if you use a usb charger. At the time we bought this I found no such instructions. It is my consistent habit to read the instructions and specifications to make certain we are using a product appropriately. The site and also the instructions sent with the charger did not specify. Therefore we may have used the wrong amp usb charger and that may have been what caused the charger to fail.

It is a rare occasion that I give a negative review...
I really, really wanted these to work. I have tried to use them in a variety of ways and it has been a complete failure. After THREE DAYS in the charger that they came with, they never indicated that they were completely charged. When I put them in a battery operated tap type light, they lasted about 30 minutes. I have a well known brand name charger that I have had for many years but it only charges 2 or 4 of AA or AAA at a time and I really needed more. But it works great, so I charged every single one of the batteries (4 at a time) using it in hopes that just the charger was bad (as I had tried to charge some of my name brand rechargeable batteries in this charger and they never charged up, but did charge when I put them in my old charger). I then tried them again and after 3 hrs they were dead again. I left the other newly charged batteries in the box for two days, then again tried to use them. They failed after 2 minutes use. I can only conclude that both the charger and batteries are junk. But hey, they ARE easy to use! I don't give bad reviews lightly, but this product deserves one. I have seen other reviews that list some of the same issues I had. I had hoped that the good reviews were right, but I have found that the bad ones were more accurate. I guess I will go back to the tried and true big brand name rechargeable batteries and deal with only being able to charge 4 at one time. It's a pain in the backside but at least I know I can depend on those. Nope, not buy again and no way I could in fair consciousness recommend this product.
