VeriFone VX 520 Dual Com 160 Mb Credit Card Machine, EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) and NFC (Near Field Communication) or Contactless, Dial Up and Internet Connectivity

Great credit card processing unit. Works great with my Chase Paymentech account for a fraction of the price they wanted for the exact same unit. Was upset when Chase Paymentech told me my old VeriFone unit was no longer supported and would not be PCI compliant, even though it had a chip reader on it that they never made software for to support it.

I needed a wireless unit. For some reason customer service had a difficult time setting it up and it still was not set up after several hours of programming. I decided to return it and it is cheaper for a mobile device. I hope I get reimbursed readily.

Did not work with my processor and had been told that it would. This company just wants you to process with themes waste of money. I tried to work with them for some kind of a refund and they wouldn’t work with me.

Works good so far. Contact your service provider before purchasing a terminal, they have very exact brand and model requirements. The seller will not exchange or refund if you have attempted to do a download. This terminal is designed for use with an either net cable, but will work on a phone line. (Phone line downloads from your service provider can take over an hour, and can be interrupted if you do not have a dedicated phone line) I used an ether net cable, luckily had one free port on router. Download from service provider took about 15min. Credit card transactions are blazing fast. Terminal is easy to use. Verifone.com has a handy pdf quick reference card that you can downloaded and print. One gripe I have is with the paper roll length. The Verifone VX520 uses the same 2-1/4" width paper as our old Hypercom terminal, but the roll length is quite a bit shorter (54 ft), we can not use the 85 ft paper rolls that we already have, the VX 520's paper compartment will not fit them. We use this terminal for phone credit card transactions only, but I did do a credit card swipe and an Apple pay transaction as tests, both worked good. Have done several phone credit card transactions, the only problem I have had was when the internet connection was not working well (could not access our emails either). If your internet connection is not reliable you might want to use a phone line connection.

Several videos on Youtube, but details were hard to follow, as I am used to plug and play.....Will have to go back and rewatch them in order to set up the machine. Did not have time to do it before the event that I bought it for.

Bought this to replace the machine provided by the merchant and called them to program. I was up and running with this terminal within the hour. Most of the time was programming time and downloading the software. Great product and prompt vendor. Highly recommended.

First of all, the machine I received is either brand new or at least appears in mint condition. It was unlocked and my merchant service company had it set up - well, they talked me through it so basically I set it up - in a thirty minute rather complex step-by-step process, but this is a process of the merchant service, not the machine. It is easy to use and accepts chip cards, swipes and keyed-in numbers. Now if it could only bring me customers.

Be very careful to get a current model. The serial numbers on my machine were from 2010. The credit card company almost wouldn't give me the download, because the serial number was so old. The instruction manuel was also dated 2010. Scary.
