The SX70 HS has 20.3 megapixels, 25% more than its predecessor, the 16.1MP SX60 HS, producing detailed files that lend themselves well to both larger prints and the rigors of post-processing. The Canon PowerShot SX70 HS is a super zoom point-and-shoot camera with a 65x equivalent, 21-1350mm F3.4-6.5 lens and 20 MP BSI-CMOS sensor. The camera is powered by Canon's latest Digic 8 processor which enables fast bursts and 4K video capture. As you'd expect, its long lens is stabilized, with up to five stops of shake reduction. Photos can be composed on a 3" fully articulated screen or a high-resolution OLED electronic viewfinder. The SX70 is Canon's first point-and-shoot camera to support its new CR3 RAM format. The SX70 can shoot continuously at 10 fps with single AF and 5.7 fps with continuous AF. 4K UHD video can be captured at 30 fps, and a 120 fps high-speed mode is available in Full HD resolution. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Review: Feels like a good fit - My only disappointment with the camera are two-fold. 1.) The battery is not compatible with other, similar models and 2) I was not able to find a transfer cord for the camera, which means I will not be able to transfer images on both of my computer. Review: A good replacement for my SX60 HS - I'm glad I upgraded. The autofocus is better and you have built in panorama mode. A good purchase.

I should of listened to the reviews
Cons: Auto focus is way too slow especially at zoom. The focus box jumps all over the place. The camera is fairly useless for action shots. At extreme telephoto it needs a tripod to hold on the subject. My 20 year old T2i works better. Pros: Really light with tons of features and settings. The auto focus may be defective so I’m sending it back for a refund.

Perfect for my needs
I agree with most other comments. For what I need (everyday safari), it is perfect. I thought I would always need a tripod, but no. It is quite light, excellent grip, very nice viewfinder. I needed a zoom, and got it! A perfect companion to my Canon G16 (that I now only use in low light).
