Great picture day and night
First, I feel like I received a repackaged item even though I ordered a new unit. The system came packaged in a plain brown box with a handle on top. the items inside were loosely packaged in foam sleeves that were not sealed. my first thought was that I wanted to return this because it did not appear to be a new item .I was expecting this to come in a retail type box with the company name and a picture of the item. with that said I did not return the item and this does not affect my review. I gave this 4 stars but it is more than a 4 star item but it is not quite a 5 star item. The day time picture is very clear as is the night picture. The night picture is black and white but it shows very clear detail. Im very happy with the clarity. the power cord for the cameras are not very long so I ordered ,LANMU 2.1 x 5.5mm Power Extension cables 12ft and I was able to install my cameras outside easily and run the wires into my house with ease. without the extensions the power source would have needed to be outside. Once the cameras were installed and powered up I set up the base. I have the base set up to my computer monitor and I use a HDMI switcher to go from computer to camera. When I turned the base on the cameras started to automatically set up and show images. I only had to align the cameras how I wanted them positioned. Setting up on line to view on phone wasn't hard if your just a little tech savvy. I couldn't scan the QR code to get it t work but I was able to manually enter the info to get it to work. There are A lot of settings that can be changed with this system and I have not really had time to change to many of them but it is easy to get to the settings and the base comes with its own mouse to make changes. Overall after 2 weeks I am pleased that I did not return this system. I had an older uniden system and this one blows it away!! since its been only 2 weeks with the system if anything changes I will update this post.

For the $, a good security camera set up for a home, maybe not so much for a small biz.
Purchased this to test it for use at a trailer park and found it lacking. (NOTE: reading license plates on this or any system is futile at night with the ample infrared and high reflectivity of most plates) Out of the box, it works well: connect it up and there's great pics on my 4k television with cameras within 20-50ft range. Put a camera at 250ft and lost connection with DVR behind one exterior wall. They sent me an monopole antenna replacement which made the problem even worse. Solution: place DVR at window with almost line of sight to camera with original dipole antenna. (There is a repeater function to link cameras which may work if set up in a line, perhaps how they claim 1000ft range?) Next was to adjust the parameters on the interface with printed instructions: although there is responsive US based tech support, make no mistake the system is from China with several inconsistencies in the instructions, interface and actual hardware. I know the ins and outs of setting these systems up (wired HIKvision systems) and be warned many parameters found in the instructions do not apply to neither the interface nor the hardware. And the interface (some screen settings) also do not apply to the actual system. (time/date display location cannot be changed if they're blocking a view; The playback speed is only 8x instead of the 16x listed in instructions to name a couple). Lastly and most disappointing is the motion detection (algorithm). Usually one sets up to only record motion detection so as to use less hard drive space and more easily find actual incidents (motion in the cameras view). After several days of testing I was surprised how much was missed even at highest sensitivity: my red truck exiting/ returning on driveway with almost quarter of the screen filled. Did not capture 3 Amazon car/ truck deliveries as well. However when the screen was more filled (1/3 to 1/2 screen, such as a door cam) motion is detected. My solution is to simply record 24/7 ( 4-5% of hard drive per day= 3 weeks). However with the amount of recorded time and slower 8x playback speed finding an "incident" will be quite tedious. For most homeowners, those don't want to pay a monthly monitoring/storage fee this system is pretty good for the money. The smartphone app works well also and fairly easy to set up. For business purposes I would not recommend it. Hopefully Revo will consider the market for small business and upgrade the software/ interface issues as well enhanced hardware such as stronger wifi radios and antennas.

Installation is a breeze. No professional needed. Quality is commercial grade.
I replaced my 5 year old standard definition Revo security system with this new Revo wireless system because I wanted to upgrade to HD video. Installation was easy. I didn’t have to run wires between the recorder and the cameras and I powered the cameras using the power adapters that came with the system. I powered up the recorder and connected it to our router using the network cable that was included with the system. I had to spend a couple of minutes on the phone with a REVO technician in order to get the system up and running on the internet. The Revo tech was professional and sounded like a local. (I think they are a Texas Company?) My family and I are able to view our cameras and system on our phones when we are away from home. Revo makes good, professional grade products and, like previous Revo products I have owned, this system feels commercial or professional grade...no like the cheaper products I find at the big box stores. So far, I’m very happy with this Revo wireless system.

Beware....2 cameras stopped working and company never replied to requests for getting them fixed.
Update....so it hasn't even been a year and 2 of my 4 cameras have stopped working. We have tried reaching out to the company to get this fixed and never have gotten a response. So while the system is great when it is working....you are out of luck when they stop working. This system works really well outside despite snow or rain. The only issue I have had with the system is that the camera located the furthest away from the main box sometimes looses signal but not for long. I love the fact that I can pull the cameras up on my phone from anywhere to check on my home. Some of my other family members have this system as well and we can link our cameras together and keep an eye on everyone's homes. This system is well worth the money. Only thing you need besides this camera system is an HDMI cable as that is not included.
