Stanley 9MM Snap Off Blade Knife 0 10 095

I wasn't very impressed by how this knife looks in the listing, with yellow plastic parts, but it's Stanley and a good price. It's actually better than I expected, being both robust and safe, and should last many years. The mechanism only seems complicated at first glance: it really isn't. It's actually quite clever, and should make accidents difficult.

Hasn't been used a lot, but feels nice & hefty in the hand. bought as an upgrade from a previous plastic one that always felt a bit flimsy. The mechanism for opening and changing the blade takes a bit of getting used to, but once tightened up seems secure. Feels good when cutting, especially with a sharp blade.

I wanted to get this in the 9mm and the 18mm versions with 100 stainless steel blades. This proved very costly, especially with a minimum purchase of 4 of the 9mm version. Instead, I decided to scrap the 18mm idea as I’m only going to cut thin materials and will use a utility knife for anything thicker. So, I bought the 4 x 9mm minimum with 100 stainless blades and saved more than half what I would’ve spent. The 9mm is reassuringly sturdy and comfortable to use. The blade locking is secure and I’m very happy with my choice. I can see these lasting a long time!

However, I would recommend exercising caution when working with tougher materials, as the blade may dull quicker than expected. One minor drawback I encountered was with the roller on the knife. While it initially remained secure, I noticed that it became loose over time, affecting the smooth operation of the blade. I had to periodically tighten it to maintain optimal performance. Although this was a minor inconvenience, it would be beneficial if the roller could stay securely in place without requiring frequent adjustments. Overall, the Stanley 0-10-095 Snap Off Knife Interlock is a reliable and versatile cutting tool. Its sturdy construction, user-friendly features, and precise cutting capabilities make it a valuable addition to any toolbox or DIY enthusiast's arsenal. Despite the minor issue with the roller, this knife offers excellent value for the price.

I needed something a bit more hard wearing for the job of trimming old caulk off walls above removed skirting. These allow that. Blades supplied flex nicely. Seem very well made.

I have used these knives for more than ten years. They have been useful , reliable and are a tool I keep at hand always. I keep several , so I can rely on a sharp blade whenever needed !! Thanks for a great help ! Martin Robinson

This is a nice knife to hold in the hand and feels comfortable. I bought the pack of four but two of them I had to file down the Front edge to allow the blade to exit. Even with this slight manufacturing fault, it’s still a five star product and can recommend this on to anyone that’s after a thin knife

Excellent snap-off knife with a solid lock function. I had been through a couple of brands until I stumbled across this variant. It solves my biggest gripe with snap-off knives in general: you can properly lock the blade at the length you need without worrying about the blade retracting by accident. The turn/lock dial at the bottom takes some getting used to, but when you get the hang of it, you will never go back!

I wanted a knife without the side thumbscrew that always strips found on most other knives. So far, this knife is working well. The only drawback is that it is a single blade knife vice having a cartridge of several. Providing the tension screw stands up, I will live with reloading more frequently.
