Baroque Art Gilders Paste, 1 Ounce, Silver

This is one of my favorite waxes. I use a lot of gilding waxes and I have quite a few excellent quality brands. This company produces artist quality shades, which I appreciate. You will have to use very little of it and it polishes well and it extremely durable. As I mentioned in the video, you will think you’re getting such a small puck, but I have not even used half of mine in almost 2 years and I am a daily crafter. If you have a crack in your wax, not to worry, just take a gloved finger and rub over it. Sometimes the top layer might get slightly dry, but if you agitate it, the wax is still perfectly good to use. Lasts a very long time. Of course, if you want to extend the life of your wax, keep it in a sealed baggie or container.

Although pricey, a little goes a long way. I was introduced to this product at wood turning symposiums that focused on embellishment alternatives. I simply apply a bit of this wax to my finger and gently rub it over my turned piece to create wonderful embellishment effects. It can also be applied with a cloth, brush, or, mostly likely, about any other alternative. I have used both the silver and gold varieties, with outstanding success.

I recently bought a plain white frame at IKEA just because I liked the style, but it was super boring and kind of cheap looking. I had read about the wonders of Rub N' Buff which eventually lead me to reading about Baroque Art Gilders Paste as well. As much as I like Rub N Buff, this paste wax has better pigmentation, way more product for your money and easier to access packaging. I decided to get this paste wax to transform my boring frame into an antique-y cork board. Using a primer base of hammered spray paint, I applied the Gilders Paste Wax lightly over the raised areas and used a dry cloth to shine up the frame. Holy wow, the finished effect of this stuff is awesome! The frame looks so much like aged metal and I still have a TON of product to use on other projects. As an artist and craft love, I HIGHLY recommend this!

I used this silver color, and also a tin of their gold, to repair vintage picture frames. I used modeling clay to replace missing plaster parts on the frame, then let it dry. Then I dabbed on the Gilders Paste. It is very easy to use, it dried to perfection and has renewed my old family oil painting frames (150 years old) which needed repair. I do recommend this product. Note; on one frame, it needed a bit of darker color in some of the intricate patterns, so I thinned down black acrylic and when the gilders wax was dry, I put on a thin, weak coat of the black watered down color, and it made for a perfect match.

I’m a calligrapher and engraving artist and I love how easily the silver applies to glass. It’s soft and my q-tip easily picks it up. Will definitely buy again.

This is hard to use so suggest learning on a test piece first but lasts well and is pretty

I just love this wax. The color is so beautiful .. it arrived harder than I expected so after the top layer is broken thru then I just used more force to get to the softer waxier part of the can. Does the trick.. used on the gesso part of an old picture frame. A little goes a long way. So try very little on your finger to get into the groves or whatever you are using it on.
