CURT Manufacturing 40090 2 in. Diameter Chrome Trailer Ball

The CURT 40090 chrome trailer hitch ball is exactly what I needed. It’s built tough, handles up to 10,000 lbs, and the chrome finish looks great while resisting rust. The 2-inch diameter fits perfectly, and the shank size made installation easy and secure. A dependable choice for any towing job!

The 600 lbs tongue weight equalizer hitch came with a 2-5/15" ball but needed a 2". Luckily I had a socket and high torque electric impact to change it out. Works great!

I purchased this trailer ball to use with a 2 1/2 inch receiver. Hitch fits great very sturdy. No worries about towing with it.

Good item and item description with no complaints. Be sure to know that the shank diameter of 1 1/4" is for heavy duty towing vehicles such as a tractor draw bar or heavy duty receiver mainly suited for larger equipment not utilizing a 2" ball. Know what your buying here. My use was simple. To be able to move around smaller trailers with my heavy duty tractor that has draw bars mostly suited for larger equipment moving such as 2 5/8' balls. Nice now to be able to swap out draw bars to move around smaller trailers of sort. Most 2" balls on vehicles utilize either 7/8" shank or 1 inch. Again know this will not fit any receiver hitch you buy from Wal-Mart

This is an unusual combination of sizes that needs to be emphasized in the Listing -but isn't. The ball is the smaller but standard 2" diameter ,not the new,bigger 2-5/16" size. BUT the shank is the huge 1-1/4" diameter size. The most likely reason you need this ball is that you've got a super heavy duty drawbar with a large 2-5/16" diameter ball. BUT you want to hook up to a trailer with a 2" coupler. Your H.D. drawbar probably has a big 1-1/4" hole for the big ball. If you get a regular 2" diameter ball it will have a smaller 1" shank. Then you would need a sleeve adapter to fit it securely ! This oddball ball is the solution BUT only to the rare situation described above. That explains why they get returned often ?

Um. It's a trailer ball. If you lube it, it'll last forever. If you don't, it'll last less than forever. Curt seems to make a ball that's sturdier than most and can two the rated weight. They last long enough for me not to remember the last one I bought. I lube the one for pulling my RV and don't lube the one for my utility trailer. No issues.

Awesome product, goes beyond safety when pulling a trailer. I have a 26.5' camper and I know the capacity of this hitch is double of the weight. Awesome product

Se ve de buena calidad. Pero para que le dure más el cromo y se siga viendo brillosa, aplique grasa cuando remolque. Para instalarla se necesita una llave o dado de 1-7/8" para la tuerca y una perica o llave de ese mismo tamaño para sujetar la bola mientras se aprieta la tuerca.

aun no la uso pero tube que perforar el jalon para que entrara el tornillo es muy grueso pero boy a tener sobrado el peso a jalar. espero sea muy duradera.
