Features: 🔥The flint and steel fire starter can be used to light a variety of things such as fire pits, fireplace, candles, bonfires, kindling, wood, logs, coal, charcoal, maya dust, tinder, lanterns, propane stoves, oil lamps, bunsen burners. You can use it indoors for kitchen cooking and has no smoke when lit. It has a magnesium flint rod and is a good flint and steel fire starter. Each match case is 1.15 x 1.5 x .45 inches and weighs 0.6 oz. Directions: Fill the container with lighter fuel no more than 3/4 full. To strike, position the flat end of the steel striker at a 45° angle at the bottom of the flint rod on the side of the container. Apply heavy pressure to the match and scrape upwards along the flint rod. There is an adjustment period at first strike so use it more to learn how to create a spark with each strike. Do not shake the container when striking. Keep the hand holding the container steady when striking to prevent fuel from spilling out. The flame lasts for about 5 seconds before it starts to burn the wick. At that point the match needs to be re-soaked in more fuel. The cotton wick will not burn as long as there is enough fuel on the wick. Re-soak the wick in more fuel if it starts to burn. Note: Keep container right side up during striking process to avoid spilling light fluid out. Can cause hazard if used improperly. Sold in different size packs. Be sure to purchase Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid (light petroleum distillate fuel) or kerosene to fill the canister. Be sure to purchase Zippo or Ronsonol lighter fluid or kerosene. Fuel is sold separately Caution: Please keep away from Kids. THIS IS NOT A TOY. .

They work great. You need to be careful filling it
Bought several of these as gifts. They work great. You need to be careful filling it, though, it fills FAST. I bought 8 but received 10 with a note saying they enclosed a couple extra. Nice surprise.

Works as advertised
Easy to use. The ferrocerium rod on the bottle sparks about as easily as it would with a knife, and there's about a 30% chance the spark will catch the wick. You can get a better chance of ignition by holding the match part at an angle so the spark is more likely to land somewhere useful. As soon as the spark touches, it lights right up to a 1" or 2" flame, and is very wind resistant. Confirmed 100% waterproof. It's a bit smaller than a zippo and doesn't hold as much lighter fluid, but compact can be an advantage and it definitely does the job. I ordered the 3-pack; I'm keeping 2 for myself, giving one to a friend, and will be ordering another pack soon.

Awesome lighter
I am so pleased with this lighter. It has a very nice weight to it too, but not too heavy, it’s small enough to fit in your pocket without adding bulk, or you can attach it to your key chain. It came ready to use with fluid in it already. I feel like it will be a great conversation starter as well. It’s the perfect little lighter you never knew you needed. It has rubber o-rings for seals on top and bottom to seal out water/seal in fluid. This is a plus, no more lighter fluid pocket. The only downfall is also it’s plus, it is small. If you have arthritic fingers and hands, or fumble with fine motor skills, you may want to choose a different option. On the other side of that, it being compact means it can fit virtually anywhere, and can comfortably be carried in even the tiniest of pockets. I’m very pleased with this lighter.

Fun gift!
These are really cool. I bought one of each of the styles (bullet & box) for gifts. I Wanted to get something new and a little different, and my dad and brother love them! I think I like the bullet one a little better (feels a bit more heavy duty than the box one) but both of them are nice. Super cool gifts! Would definetly recomend them!

READ. THE TRUTH
I bought two of the rose gold bullet matches and even after stripping away black coating on flit, it is nearly impossible to get the wick to light, which is also VERY small. On top of this, the resovoir for the lighter fluid dries up in days. ALSO, when you try to light it, if you get any fluid from the wick on the canister, it will likely light and catch fire. If this was like $5 it would be good but $20 each? Just get a normal lighter TRUST ME!

big flame!
I bought these as a give away for my 9th annual canoe trip as a giveaway. The aluminum side is perfect for LASER etching our logo and names. The flame on these matches is bigger than the match stick! Just make sure the wick is completely soaked with lighter fluid before trying to light it. I give the case a small shake before taking the stick out and lighting it.I bought 10 but everyone I've shown it to wants one. I might have to buy more.

They work....at least for now
I have only had a chance to use this permanent match for a short period but so far so good. One thing to note is to not get too excited to strike it straight out of the package. I immediately wanted to try it as soon as I opened it and found that it does light the wick without fuel. The issue is that without out the presence of fuel the wick actually burns to ash. That said, add fuel to the canister, dip the stick and strike away. Out of about twenty strikes, I would say that only a few strikes were unsuccessful of starting the flame. It will be interesting to see how long the wick will last but I am happy that these are performing so far. This is a cool alternative to a lighter.
