When you're in hogsmeade, close attention to the wand movement as it's demonstrated.

I would have loved a similar "thin" groove carved into this to be ...
I bought this to complete a Halloween costume and it did very well although considering Luna Lovegood tucks her wand behind her ear all teh time, I would have loved a similar "thin" groove carved into this to be able to do the same thing.
