Review: The Perfect Companion to Dreamweaver - 2 CDs to hear on Media Player - 10 Tracks - I'm a long time follower of George Duke, he was a player/composer on many Frank Zappa & Mothers albums, loved his work there, I morn his passing, but am glad he was able to make it until August 2, 2013, Frank "Left the Building" Dec. '93, I strongly recommend any, all of George's albums, I have some vinyl records from pre-CD times. These tracks are all good, "Sweet Baby", "Starting Again", "Shine On", "Just For You". Had to get "Dreamweaver" because of "Missing You", a tribute to his wife, who died about a year earlier, was moved, George is a man, or was a man of my heart, I share those feelings. As long as George's work lives, we purchase it.. he will live in our Spirit, Hearts. A funky flashback!
George Duke has been making great music for decades, but I loved him best during his funk phase. This CD has 3 of his funk classics: Dukey Stick, Reach For It and Mothership Connection. In fact, I love this version of the Mothership Connection better than the one on Parliament Funkadelic's LP. This is well worth the price of a used CD.

A true blast from the past. Had no idea of the number of recordings Mr. Duke wrote /influenced. So glad I purchased this in cd format.

The late great jazz singer
The late great jazz singer, composer, producer, and arranger George Duke has composed some of the greatest music pieces not only for himself but for other artists as well gives us a small taste of his musical genius on this greatest hits cd. I say small taste only because this just touches the surface of some of his greatest works. His body of work is too numerous to mention, but this cd is a great start.

Fun cd!
Loved this cd by George Duke! “Reach For It” is one of his best songs and was included on this cd! Great dancing to it too!!

Un panorama non exhaustif de la production de ce génie des claviers. Roi de la funk music et du jazz, compositeur prolixe, side man reconnu par tous ses pairs, producteur de génie, homme d'une culture musicale" gigantesque" et variée, on aura là un (trop petit hélas) aperçu de ce que le bonhomme a été capable de composer avant que la mort nous prive de sa présence. Cette compilation nous met juste l'eau à la bouche et nous donne l'envie de creuser un peu plus dans la vaste étendue de sa production.
