Best quality Guitar for the money!!!!
I absolutely love this guitar. I have been learning as a newbie over the last several months on a loaned guitar and wanted one I could call my own. After months of research I landed on this one. I do not regret it!!! The sound quality from the solid wood top makes a huge difference over the low end laminate guitars. From the first strum it sounded beautiful. The guitar came well set up, with the action nice and low. The neck is straight, frets nice and smooth without rough edges and the strings are decent quality. I will swap them out soon enough for personal preference. The onboard tuner worked great for about a 2 week and stopped working completely. It would be nice for it to work but I use a tuner on my smartphone, if necessary. My only complaint is the picture does not match the description. The picture that I ordered looked like the brown SANDBURST finish which is a light brown but the description says brown sunburst, which is orange-ish around the sound hole and turns a dark brown around the edges. The finish is still beautiful but was not what I originally thought I was ordering. The guitar sounded so good I decided it was not work the hassle of attempting to swap out.I highly recommend this guitar for any new beginners, intermediate, and even seasoned players. The quality that Yamaha produces is outstanding.

10/10 would buy again.
I believe this is the first review that I have written on an Amazon product in the 5 years that I have been a prime member and ordered alot of stuff. This guitar is by far the best purchase I have made. After looking at a few other acoustics in the price point I landed on this one after reading other reviews. First off, the build quality is extremely high, though I did notice a little bit of excess dried glue where the neck meets the body on the back side. I'm some what of a pessimist when it comes to making bigger purchases online without feeling them and looking at them. The look and feel of this guitar makes me wonder how it can be at this low of a price point. The sound is full and rich. I'd compare it to my brother in law's Taylor 410 though I don't have a professional ear for the little nuances of sound. I'm an intermediate player with a few years of off and on experience and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a quality product with amazing sound and features at this price point.

I love this guitar
Yamaha FJX730SC, I love this guitar. Yamaha has been making this guitar for years, but it is my understanding that they have quit making this guitar. They made this guitar with the non scalloped braces. They now have started scalloping the braces in the 800 series. I have both of them and must say that I love both of them, but 800's are a little louder. That said, I have not made up might mind which guitar I like best. I give both guitars a excellent +++ rating, but the 730 might have a little smoother tone. I got one of the last new ones being sold. If you can find one, snatch it up. It has a tuner, a pre-amp, a cut away, frets well, and has a rich, mellow bell like tone coming out of the sound hole. If it is on e-bay and it has a money back guarantee, snatch it up! If does not play well send it back! Thanks for listening, Rick

Great Guitar for Price
I bought this guitar for its amplification and I've been playing it a lot and really enjoying it. The build quality is solid, the setup was good right out of the box, and the tuner and EQ controls work well. I played quite a few similar guitars before I bought this one, including some that were much more expensive. The sound and playability of the FGX730 are almost as good as the best of the other acoustic-electrics I auditioned, and as good or better than others in the same price range. I'm very happy with it.

Good sound but two major flaws
I don't normally write reviews for products, in fact this may be my first one on Amazon. I am the type of shopper that typically buys whatever the highest reviewed option is (within my price range), and normally that works out great for me. In this case, however, it did not.Pros:- Great sound (except for the issue mentioned below)- I love the built in tuner- Pickup seems to be of good quality (at least to my level of deciphering sound)Cons:- A rattle started literally after two weeks of use - I can't seem to locate the source but almost all of the strings (especially the D and G strings) produce an incredibly annoying rattling noise - It's coming from somewhere within the bottom half of the body because when I apply pressure to the bottom half and play the D and G open the vibrating/rattling noise stops- The fret board is "rough". I don't know how else to describe it, when you bend strings you can audibly hear them grinding against the fret board. This comes across in the sound

My son is very happy with it and is using it to play in ...
I ordered this guitar for my son who has played electric guitar for three years and has transitioned to acoustic. We wanted a decent guitar but something not too expensive as this is still more of a hobby. After researching and reading favorable reviews about this guitar we decided to make the purchase. My son is very happy with it and is using it to play in the teen choir at church.

This is a great guitar for the price
This is a great guitar for the price. It was ready to play right out of the box and sounded good unplugged or plugged to a small amp I have. The only negative is that the electronics quit working about 5 weeks after the purchase (about 2 days after it was eligible to be returned). When I insert the batteries the auto-tuner and power light don't light up and there is no juice to the amp. It worked great for awhile, but nothing now. I guess I will take it to the local guitar shop and see what they can do with it.

Obviously the best choice for a first guitar
Obviously the best choice for a first guitar! Sound is perfect, came as described and the workmanship is outstanding for the price. Have not tried with amplifier yet but that will come in future. Packaging was a bit flimsy for this but it arrived all in one piece.
