UV AOX Elements Tinted Face Sunscreen, SPF 50, 100% Tinted Mineral Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin and Dry Skin with Antioxidants, 1.7 oz Pump

This is the 3rd sunscreen formulation I've tried from Elta MD, and just like the others I'm impressed. Background: I am a male with sensitive, oily and rosacea prone skin. I've been loving the Elta Recovery (white and green tinted versions) but wanted a tinted SPF for the days where I need some extra coverage. This is great - it provides a subtle tint that covers and masks skin imperfections like a light foundation. The finish is not pure matte, but it's not glossy or dewy by any means. It's right in the middle, and it stays put. This one is also water resistant, which is a big plus. If I'm planning on being in the sun for a while, I'll use a thicker amount. I've found it helpful to mix this with a bit of the non-tinted mineral Recovery SPF, also by Elta, to tone down the intensity of the tint. I have very fair skin, so that is a good tip if you use a thick layer. Keep it coming, Elta! These formulations are great!

I absolutely LOVE this sunscreen. The texture is very light and silky, barely there . I adore the tinted one , it's like a delicate moisturising foundation and leaves a lovely glow on the skin yet with the benefit of the BROAD SPECTRUM protection UVA, UVB. Being so light it can be used under make up if desired or on its own . I live in the tropics, have fair skin sensitive to the sun and have used the best high protection factor full spectrum sun screen all my life, but none as light as EltaMD. I have been using it for 3 years now (and recently heard that Elta MD Full Spectrum sunscreen is a favorite of top cosmetic surgeon Dr Amir Karam).

Finally, a tinted mineral sunscreen that actually delivers. I started using the EltaMD UV AOX Elements because I wanted something clean, effective, and gentle on my skin, and it checks all the boxes. The tint is sheer but makes a noticeable difference in evening out my skin tone without looking like makeup. There’s no white cast, and it blends in beautifully, even on days I don’t wear anything else. The texture is smooth and breathable, not greasy or sticky, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated thanks to the hyaluronic acid. It wears well under makeup too, which is a huge plus. What really impressed me is the broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection, plus the added bonus of antioxidants and blue light defense. I love knowing it’s doing more than just blocking UV rays, it’s also working to protect my skin from environmental stressors. It’s also water-resistant for 40 minutes, which is perfect for regular daily use. The only minor downside is that it’s a little thicker than some other EltaMD formulas, but it’s still very wearable. All in all, this is a fantastic sunscreen if you’re looking for a non-toxic, skin-nourishing mineral option with real staying power. I’ll absolutely be repurchasing.

I've used EltaMD products for 15+ years, but I’ve struggled ever since they changed the formula of their tinted sunscreen—the new UV AOX Elements casts an orange hue on my fair, somewhat freckled skin (Type II) with rosacea. After a long trial-and-error journey (and a lot of frustration), I finally found a routine that works—and I think others with sensitive or redness-prone skin should know about it. What finally worked: EltaMD UV Skin Recovery (green-tinted) 50 SPF Red Color Correcting Sunscreen This was a dermatologist recommendation, and it’s been a game-changer. Don’t be alarmed by the green color—it fades within seconds of application and immediately counteracts redness. Over 6+ weeks, it’s also reduced my inflammation and improved my skin’s texture and tone. It’s lightweight, moisturizing, not greasy, and doesn’t irritate my rosacea or trigger breakouts. I use it as a moisturizer and as a base layer before applying tinted sunscreen. I hope Amazon will start selling it soon! CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 (Sheer Tinted) This blends beautifully and has zero orange cast. It layers over the green EltaMD UV Skin Recovery perfectly with no clumping or pilling. No smell, no transfer, and it gives a smooth, sheer tint that has buildable coverage. I use this as my primary tinted SPF. EltaMD UV AOX Elements (Tinted) I still use this—but now as a light bronzer. I layer a small amount under or over the CeraVe for a touch of warmth without letting the orange tone take over. I tried the EltaMD UV Daily, and it is more moisturizing but has a VERY orange cast! I do not recommend UV Daily. Face Wash & Serums: EltaMD Skin Recovery Amino Acid Foaming Cleanser – another win for sensitive skin, incredibly gentle and calming. CeraVe Hyaluronic Acid Serum – hydrating and light, I apply this when I need extra moisture. Photos included: I’ve uploaded photos comparing the tints of EltaMD UV AOX, UV Daily (which was even darker/oranger and transferred onto clothing), and the CeraVe Tinted Mineral SPF so you can see the difference. I also included a picture of my current full routine from face wash to sunscreen layering. Final verdict: If you have redness, rosacea, or sensitive skin—and you’ve been disappointed by the recent orange-colored EltaMD UV AOX Elements tint changes—this layered routine offers customizable coverage, sun protection, and visible skin improvement. I won’t go without the green UV Skin Recovery now. It’s that good.

Love the sunscreen because it is Like mouse and goes on very smoothly. It last a long time for size Of container. It doesn’t irritate my Skin.

Our dermatologist recommended EltaMD sunscreen and I decided to try this tinted variety. Having used DRMTLGY Anti-Aging Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46 previously, I believe this has a much nicer feel on the skin. It applies like a tinted moisturizer and feels silky on my skin. It can be worn as a light foundation and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing makeup yet it still softens most of my skin discolorations. Concealer pencils handle my dark spots and blended in nicely on top of the sunscreen (let it set for at least 5 minutes). I have fair to medium coloring so I’m not certain how this would work with darker skin.
