Great for electronic parts - way more storage space than I thought
Prior to purchasing this, I stored my electronic parts in two large tackle boxes – the old Plano’s that had six fold-out trays with about twelve sections in each tray. I liked the old Plano style but the fold-out trays took up a lot of workspace and made the tackle box somewhat unstable. I also own one of the huge Plano FTO Elite Ultimate Angler System tackle boxes which includes several utility boxes – three large utility boxes and four smaller ones. I love the Ultimate Angler box for my fishing tackle but figured it didn’t quite fit the bill for storage of electronic parts. The Plano 7771 Guide Series, with 4 large boxes and room for additional smaller utility boxes, allowed me to consolidate all my parts into a single container. In the attached photos, you can see the four 2-3701 (23701) utility boxes are easily configurable for electronic parts. The long dividers are fixed in the box. If you look carefully, the long dividers are molded onto a slight ridge. When you insert the smaller dividers into the slots, insert the slightly rounded edge downward. This curvature fits the molded ridge on the bottom of the tray producing a seamless divider that won’t allow smaller electronic parts to slip under. The slots that the dividers fit into are spaced a bit too narrow to hold a resistor without bending the wires. I had to insert slots into every-other channel to produce a section wide enough to hold resistors. This gave me a total of 15 bins in the 23701 utility box in which I divided resistors ranges for organization. I was able to fit 2,600 resistors with room to spare. I also purchased four Plano 2-3500 (23500) utility boxes ( Plano 2-3500 Prolatch Stowaway Utility Box (4-Pack) ). As you can see in the photo, three of these fit in the bottom-right space (slide them in long-ways on their edge). The 23500 boxes have 9 sections (also configurable with dividers) giving you 27 more usable sections in the bottom right of the 7771. I also found the four 23500 boxes will fit into the top large space in the 7771 with room to spare. As you can see in the photo, there’s a large amount of space still left and indeed, six 23500’s almost fit but the hinges didn’t quite clear. You could possibly force them in but I didn’t want to chance it. With the 23500 utility boxes stacked on top of each other in this top section, the lid closes fine. I plan on purchasing four more to place in the top of the 7771. The top right space on the 7771 is accessible by unlatching and raising the large tackle box lid or by popping upon the little door on top. Four of the common 4” x 7” segmented electronic component boxes fit in there (stacked on top of each other) without extending above the ridge of the tackle box (see photos). A fifth box could be stacked on top if you wanted and the lid will still close. The 4” x 7” boxes are easy to pull out of the popup lid hole too (i.e. you don’t have to open the large lid to get to them). Finally, the top lid has a clear door that pops up giving access to five more rows of storage (two large sections and three smaller sections). These also have divider slots that could be used to create fourteen more sections. I left the dividers out and use this top section for wire and components I want to grab quickly. Given that it’s a Plano box, the quality if of course, great. I have several Plano tackle boxes that I’ve owned since I was a kid and are now over 30 years old. They last forever. Was a great buy and worked perfectly for my electronic component storage.

Very nice, larger size box
This tackle box is heavy duty and was definitely built with strong material. It was bigger than I expected but in a good way. It has all kinds of storage.

The tackle box that carries it all
This replaced another tackle box my husband used for many years that recently broke when he stepped on it trying to get to the back of his boat in some rough water. He's a pretty avid fisherman and a bit selective about his gear. He spends so much time on the water that the gear he uses needs to be well suited to him or else he gets frustrated with it, then eventually buys something else and spends twice as much money as he needs to just to get the one item he needed. His gear doesn't have to be expensive, he just likes gear that works well. We went by a Cabela's to find a new tackle box and found this Plano 7771 system. After going through quite a few other boxes as well, he came back to this one and decided on it. And as it turned out it was less here online. So I ordered it here instead of picking it up in store and saved quite a bit of money. My husband fishes all seasons and for several different types of fish. From ice fishing all winter (which is a long season here in Minnesota), to fishing in-land lakes, Lake Superior (a lake the size of a state) and he also spends a lot of time on the Mississippi River. So he carries a ton of different types of lures, weights, leaders, hooks, jig heads, etc. with him all the time. He likes all his gear in one box, not different boxes for different seasons or types of fishing. So he likes a tackle box that holds it all, like this one does. And although you can carry a lot with this, it's not so huge that it's like you're carrying something the size of a Craftsman tool chest with you. But it does get heavy when you load it up. So it's not really the tackle box you want to carry if you're going to be trekking quite a ways to your fishing hole on foot. But it's a good system when you're fishing from your boat, only walking a short ways or have something to carry your gear on when you're taking it out to the ice shack. Great tackle box that's designed to carry just about everything!

Nice
I was replacing a three tray soft tackle bag with this looking for more room. The three tray filled this one up and gave me no room to grow. This box does have way more room than the three tray, I went from five lures in a cubby to two per cubby. The lay out is much easier with the top bin for favorite go to lures and four trays are much easier to get to than the soft bag. Very easy functionality for spinning Bates. The handle is very functional compared to the over packed bag I was using. Seems very sturdy and well built. A lot of reviews complained about not having a second spinner rack in the lower compartment but no where in the description does it say it comes with one and for me I was glad it didn't have it, I was able to fit three small tackle boxes and bags of soft Bates in that compartment. There is an old video that shows this box and it coming with the extra spinner rack in the bottom but not described coming with it on Amazon. Very happy with it and nice upgrade from what I was using.

Great box for the everyday fisherman
Plano, always a great product. As background, I am old and have fished since able to to walk. I purchased this to replace my experiment to go to a back pack style tackle box, as the backpack finally wore out after about 8 years. I hate the back pack style idea and usage. Had concerns over capacity, especially with the boxes, but it is large enough that an avid fisherman will have not issues with space. Highly recomment this for the high volume fisherman.

Great Box. AMAZING Customer Service!!!
As you guys know, one of my passions is fishing. Because I have so much crap, about 3 or 4 years ago I bought a really big tacklebox. A Plano 7771 Guide Series. I totally LOVE it. Because I keep a rod repair kit in the box in case I break a tip, I also keep a cigarette lighter in the box to melt the glue stick used to repair. Well, last year (not thinking) I put the lighter in the top (see-thru) tray. In the extreme heat, the lighter actually exploded, and blew out a quarter of the top lid and sent tackle flying all over the boat. The rest of the tacklebox was fine. I looked all over online to purchase replacement parts. I couldn't find them anywhere. I even considered having a friend 3D print a new lid. I love the box, and really didn't want drop close to $100 on a new box just because of this. A few boards online said "Call Plano, That's the only place you can get replacement parts." So I finally broke down and called. The recording said there was a long wait time, and if I would simply "push 1" they would call me back. I decided on this option, since I was in the middle of my work day. About 45 minutes later, my phone rings, I answer, and get a pleasant, easy to understand voice say: "Hello, this is Ryan with Plano. I have a message here to call you?" I explained my issue, and told him I also wanted to add on the small trap door on the front as it had a slightly damaged clip. After a little clicking of the computer keys, he says: "I was able to find both. We run those again in about 7-days. I'll add yours to the run, and they should be sent out by UPS the next day. I was so happy that my box was going to be made whole again (I know, sounds a bit over the top, but I really like my box). I then asked what the damage was. He said "There will be no charge”. I said "you don't understand, this wasn't warranty, I did this. It was my mistake. I don't mind paying". He said: "Welcome to the Plano Family. We'll just call it a 1-time customer Courtesy". I was floored. They didn’t even charge me shipping! I really wish other companies would work this hard to build loyalty. Plano is made right here in the USA in Columbia, SC. Their customer service was right there at their facility (not outsourced). I can't say enough about this great company. I will also be a customer of theirs for life.

Best Tackle Box Ever
I bought this while on vacation after my previous tackle box of over 30 years broke into pieces, this after multiple patched repairs over the years, because I loved that tackle box. However THIS 7771-01 box is a surpassing replacement for sure. It's size is perfect for a stay-on-the-boat box (I wouldn't recommend it for a carry-around box), perfect for my bass boat. It's design seems to be very protective against the elements while closed. There is room for all of my difference lure types/styles and all of my tackle accessories. And I still have extra room left. That large storage section can hold a few spare reels if I wanted. I don't have anything in there yet. Last but not least, it's very well built and sturdy. I look forward to many years of use.

One of the best tackle boxes ever!!
After over 50 years of fishing I bought the Plano 7771 tackle box , and I think it is one of the best ever tackle boxes I've ever owned. BTW- I fish mostly Salt Water on Canada's west coast It has space for everything including lures, spoons, flashers, line, extra reel, swivels, scissors , knives or whatever your needs are. When you do receive it, look it up and study it as the latches open in different ways in the various compartments. I made a foolish blunder and broke a latch , but Plano sent me another promptly with no charge. (great Customer Service) I can easily recommend this tackle box and I'd buy another without hesitation.
