Ricci is hot!
I bought this DVD because Christina Ricci was in it - pure and simple. It's a strange film and not for everyone but it's Ricci's sexiest role yet( arguably ) so that's why I bought it. Ricci plays many roles and you need to see through the fog to know what's going on. Has a hollywood ending but it's worth it just for Ricci. If your a Christina Ricci fan, then buy it, if not maybe this movie isn't for you.

NOT NOIR.
This is a light humorous romance movie. It is obviously not meant to be taken seriously. Yes, the plot is weak and the script could have been better but it is still an entertaining little film.

Intriguing mystery
I enjoyed this movie because of the mystery, and the twists and turns. I didn't like the explicit sex, but I just fast forwarded through those scenes.

Needs captioning
Captioning is a valuable service to provide for those of us who need it. In the film "Miranda" there is no English closed-captioning track, and the only concession to captions at all is the track in Spanish. I have noticed that British efforts are frequently released without captions, and in "Miranda" there are the usual modern faults: nearly inaudible whispering, inadequate separation between dramatic lines and accompanying music, British terms and pronounciations which Americans need to hear more accurately, and so forth. The use of Spanish subtitles does NOT help whatever in these matters. Otherwise, I do believe Christina Ricci is suitably admired by the photographer.

All of Over the Place
This movie did not keep my interest. I kept asking myself why where the characters obsessed with Miranda? There was nothing amazing about her so what was it? Looks? I loved her in a few other films so I was excited to watch. Skeptical because of the trailer but excited. I regretfully watched the whole movie. It was agonizing.

Great drama
A passionate and dramatic film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Christina Ricci is sexy in her dramatic role.

Enjoyably off-centre piece of art
Released by Film4, this DVD includes cast and crew interviews, a featurette, plus trailer. The film is 89 minutes and extras another 25 minutes approx.Written by Rob Young and directed by Marc Munden, the film Miranda is about an enigmatic young woman who enters the life of shy, daydreaming librarian Frank. Suddenly, he finds himself catapulted into the world of confidence tricksters, sadistic villains and amazing sex. But who is the real Miranda?Filmed mostly in urban Yorkshire's grim interiors, the film has a stark reality of everyday life, which is carefully and cleverly juxtaposed against the dreams and ambitions of the working class and the achievements and methods of the elite class. Portraying the multi-faceted Miranda is the wonderfully adaptable and accomplished Christina Ricci, in one of her many excellent characterisations. Guiding her manoeuvres is the elegant schemer Christian (played magnificently by a superb John Hurt). The new love in Miranda's life, Frank, is yet another incredibly good character role taken to great heights by a simply stunning John Simm, who is totally believable yet also incredibly funny at times. Kyle MacLachlan plays the role of Nailor, who is more than just Frank's rival for Miranda's affections. Some very strong performances from this cast, who all seemed to push each other to that higher level. Recommended.

Cute and funny with a touch of reality
This is a fast moving film with stunning performances from all concerned: British and American actors coming together with grace and humour.

Great price
Saw this online for £20 after my last copy was damaged. It's hard to find this film on DVD for some reason, but its a really good quirky Brit flick. If you are after something different I would try it.
